🚨 $RKLB WINS $36.8M NEW NASA CONTRACT TO FLY GDC TRAILBLAZER
A federal contract record dated Oct 28 shows:
- $28.9M funded now, up to $36.8M potential value
- Current contracts runs through Dec 31, 2027
- NASA paid Rocket Lab, Loft Orbital and Tyvak to study mission concepts in May. RKLB ends up being the one that wins the flight order
The mission will study Earth's upper atmosphere and space weather, which can affect satellites and communications

NASA pissed off Rocket Lab, and RKLB doesn’t want Blue Origin to get the MTN contract.
Rocket Lab has filed a second GAO protest against NASA’s MTN contract, with a decision deadline of February 1, 2027.
This is the roughly $700 million contract NASA awarded to Blue Origin on September 1. The first protest has a deadline of December 21, and during the protest period NASA is required to suspend contract performance.
That means Blue Origin’s MTN contract could be frozen until next February, putting even more pressure on the 2028 Mars launch window.
$RKLB 🌏,
When Rocket Lab's legal team reviewed the released NASA files, they likely discovered additional evaluation errors or inconsistencies that weren't visible from the outside, a separate "supplemental" docket was filed on Oct 24th, to add these new arguments to the case.

$RKLB NEUTRON'S FIRST FLIGHT HARDWARE IS NOW AT THE PAD
- The thrust module is on the launch mount for pad connection and propellant tests
- Next for Stage 2: cold-propellant tests, practice fueling runs, then an engine install and static fire
Great progress update!
$RKLB's @Peter_J_Beck has hinted at unannounced Neutron contracts that should be announced soon.
My bet is on $RKLB getting a chunk of this NASA bulk launch deal.
Plan is to buy up launch from 4-5 different commercial rockets.
$RKLB will absolutely be on this list.
Question for me is how big of a contract?

Cowboy Space just announced Stampede, its plan for AI compute in orbit.
20,000 satellites at 1 MW each, adding up to 20 GW at full build. Each one carries just under 800 Nvidia GPUs, and the rocket's upper stage is the satellite itself.
The company is led by Robinhood co-founder Baiju Bhatt and raised $275M at a $2B valuation in May.
Launch is targeted for 2028.

It’s a beautiful day to set sail with the next pieces of Neutron flight hardware to Launch Complex 3.
Earlier today we sent Neutron’s Stage 2 and Thrust Module out of the Neutron Factory and onto a barge for transport through Chesapeake Bay to Wallops Island in Virginia.
Once it arrives, the Thrust Module will go straight onto the launch mount at LC-3 for check outs and the beginning of wider systems demonstrations including integrated fluids tests and module-to-launch-mount interface checkouts. With no strongback on the launch mount by design, Neutron’s Thrust Module is the rocket’s only physical interface to the launch pad, which this upcoming test campaign enables us to test early before the entire vehicle comes together.

$RKLB IS ACTUALLY HELPING ITS CUSTOMERS FINANCE THEIR ROCKET LAUNCHES
Some things I find interesting in its Q2 earnings:
- Rocket Lab reported $32.2M in outstanding customer-financing receivables as of Jun 30, up from $22.9M at the end of 2025
- certain commercial customers can finance launch milestone payments
- interest rates are fixed at 9.5%, 10.8%, or 12.6%
Is this a smart way to secure more contracts?

🚨 $RKLB HAS UNTIL THIS FRIDAY TO RESPOND TO FCC CONCERNS RAISED BY $SPCX AND $ASTS PARTNER LIGADO
Both companies filed letters questioning Iridium's conduct toward competitors:
- SpaceX raised concerns about Iridium's demands for shared Ka-band spectrum coordination
- Ligado accused Iridium of using FCC proceedings to delay competing satellite services
Upcoming FCC deadlines:
- Oct 30: Responses due
- Nov 9: Replies due
Neither filed a formal petition to deny the acquisition. Rocket Lab and Iridium can respond, but are not required to.
Interesting to see if they address these allegations.
