As the public backlash to AI and data centres grows in Canada, politicians are trying to anxiously spin.
In a new video, Marcus Werner debunks the PR push underway to justify public handouts to tech oligarchs.
Pro-AI politicians are NERVOUS about the public backlash

Bill C-37, known as the First Nations Clean Water Act, is the most recent example of the Carney Liberals’ violations of Section 35 rights in the Constitution Act of 1982. Section 35 recognizes and affirms Aboriginal and Treaty rights.
Bill C-37 fails to recognize clean water as a human right.
Bill C-37 limits First Nations’ jurisdiction and authority of water to ON RESERVE only, excluding lands over which Aboriginal title is claimed by a First nation, or has been confirmed by a court.
Bill C-37 is a return to the Harper era that gave rise to the Idle No More movement.
I’ve sponsored a petition initiated by Matriarch Sandra DeLaronde calling on the government to reverse its violations of First Nations' rights. Add your name to make sure Indigenous rights are upheld: ourcommons.ca/petitions/en/P…

Albertans are getting screwed.
A quarter-billion in unpaid property taxes. Countless billions more in environmental liabilities. And an energy regulator that can't be trusted.

It does not create thousands of good jobs.
Since 2014, Alberta’s oil & gas industry has *lost* tens of thousands of jobs.
Under Premier Smith’s strong leadership, Alberta set a new record by producing 1.5 billion barrels of oil in 2025.
This is great news for our province because it creates thousands of good jobs for workers and helps pay for the schools and hospitals we all need.
When our energy sector wins, every Alberta family wins.

The “Mature Asset Strategy” (MAS) would be a disaster for everyday Albertans, leaving families with toxic wells on their land, and taxpayers with the multi-billion 💰 cleanup bill.

Anyone surprised? The @Alberta_UCP is obsessed with turning back the clock to a time when union rights, Trans people, and a women's right to choose didn't exist...why not return to coal and pollute the land and air even more. This is truly the worst timeline.
