Running is not a chore or a item on your to-do list. It’s freedom and peace, it’s a gift

Not only was this the longest run in yonks, more importantly for the first time EVER I managed to get a Hygge band to stay on my head over Aftershokz for the whole run (apologies for scary, skanky, post run selfie, but this represents a real achievement for me!)

We all know it’s not Christmas without Mystic Fish.... it’s the law in our family. Turns out it has a new role this year and would also undoubtedly be more efficient at Track and Trace.

Almost 3 years ago I had a surgeon stand over my bed, tell me that I wouldn’t ever walk ‘properly’ again. That my ankle bone would die (it didn’t) + even if it didn’t die all the above was still true.
Today, after several weeks of training, I ran my first 10k 😭

We want to maintain our #hillfitness so that as soon as it's safe to get back to the hills & mountains we'll be raring to go, but it's tough training under #lockdown. Our latest blog shares how we're going about it and might give you some ideas too rockriver.co.uk/hill-fitness…

Join us 10-16 May 2020 to climb Jebel #Toubkal the highest peak in the Atlas Mountains, Morocco. Trek through the National Park as you acclimatise before summit day - no technical climbing, you just need to be hill fit. bit.ly/jebeltoubkal

We weren’t only on the water this week. We also spent time at Wyndcliffe Crag teaching the recruits to climb and belay their climbing partner.
When did you last try something new?

Marshalling our new local ParkRun this morning was so eye- wateringly cold and windy, that I sloped back to my car for my work coat. Much jealousy from other marshalls and even offers to buy it (!) I declined, obviously.....

Today was my 835th consecutive day of running at least 5km and despite puking at mile 20 and cramping so badly I had to stop at mile 24, I still somehow managed a new marathon PB at @BrightonMarathn ! Can’t say how proud I am of myself. #BrightonMarathon #BrightonHero #ukrunchat
