This video was an especially poignant, and quietly powerful, way to end the event -- thank you @jackaldane and all the participants for creating it.

Heartfelt thanks to @jackaldane and @YorkUnderwood for creating this unforgettable experience -- you are a powerhouse duo! So great to meet @Leon_C_C and have her sign my copy of her novel The Decadence. Much to discuss about the keynote at @21Soho . . .
Messages coming in from among the 120 people who turned out for @mymartinamis last night, all saying the same thing: this was literary history unfolding in real time. We’ll take that.
@YorkUnderwood, pictured beneath with me outside 21Soho, is a dream collaborator. We’re only just getting started.
Thank you @GavinKeulks and @JimDiedrickATL for lighting the fuse, and believing all the way.
Thank you @wself, @Will___lloyd, @Leon_C_C and Kevin Power for putting on an unforgettable show.
And thank you, as always, to our audience. Write to us!
Pnin was a revelation when I read it last year -- brilliant, by turns hilarious and heartbreaking. My god, the writing.
Today is the day!
🗣️ TONIGHT!
We look forward to seeing you at @21Soho, 7pm BST, for an arresting keynote speech by @wself, followed by📚 After Amis LIVE 📚 with Kevin Power, @Leon_C_C and @Will___lloyd.

Guardian journalists are trying to absolve themselves of responsibility by claiming they're progressive. I genuinely think they're worse than GB News. GB News know who they are, are not so disgustingly patrician, and don't function to legitimise the hounding of a man to death.

This excellent opinion piece would be valuable for all those commenting below to read.

Looking forward to this -- especially since I agree with Hensher's judgment that the The Old Wive's Tale "ought to be acknowledged among the 20 greatest novels in English."
Required reading: a volcano of brilliant invective, a plea for restaint. "A civilisation cannot technologise its way out of the consequences of technology while retaining its governing commitment to perpetual expansion."
Jordan Peterson thinks climate restraint is an assault on freedom. Will Self thinks the problem runs rather deeper: a politics incapable of accepting limits, decline—or death.
On Peterson, the @Telegraph, and the death drive of the consuming West.
I'm eager to meet my fellow contributors to The Cambridge Companion to Martin Amis -- and all who want to join a lively literary conversation -- on August 25.
Just over two weeks to go until @mymartinamis launches The Cambridge Companion to #MartinAmis in Bloomsbury, after which the plot thickens in Soho.
If you haven’t booked your ticket for 📚 After Amis📚, now is the moment.
We’ll be hosting a keynote speech by Will Self at 21 Soho, recording a live episode of the podcast, then hitting the town. We’d love for you to join us!

Looking forward to hearing Professor Joe Brooker talk about his essay "Amis's England" at the "After Amis" event in London on August 25. Check out this video preview.
Another contributor profile for the forthcoming Cambridge Companion to Martin Amis: Today's spotlight is scholar Joe Brooker, whose essay is titled "Amis's England." Although Amis has international reach and appeal, England was essential to his work, both as a real and symbolic place.
Dr. Brooker will be appearing with me and 7 other panelists at our London launch event at @BirkbeckUoL and @21Soho on August 25th. We would love to see you there. Links in reply. @CUP_LitPerform
I'll be talking about collaborating with Martin Amis on The War Against Cliche at this exciting event, and about my chapter on Amis's first 3 novels in The Cambridge Companion. Hope to see you there.
