You get what you train for. If you don't plan and work for it, don't be surprised when it doesn't happen. #specificity

Alabama football director of performance, David Ballou…
What would be his biggest tip to young athletes trying to get to the next level?
“A lot of people work hard…
it’s the people that work hard & are able to stack nutrition & sleep & those things on top of it.”

Good Training is Universal.
What makes an Athlete Explosive for Football, makes them explosive for Baseball, Basketball, or Wrestling.
There is no Sport Specific Strength and Speed Training… it’s just Strength and Speed Training🙌🏻

You do realize you can play soccer, baseball, basketball, tennis, golf and most other sports for decades after high school.
Football? This is your time.
It’s now or never.

Your athletes should go months repeating the same exercises…
The only change should be Volume and Intensities waved in sequence.
Stop changing things that are working!

I know a sport coach hates to see us “recovery interval” experts coming 😂😂
Get comfortable standing around. Use the time to ask your players how they’re doing or get good at telling jokes. Or just enjoy the awkward silence. 🤐
Coaches HATE TO SEE IT.
Athletes get visibly uncomfortable.
It takes maturity to handle it correctly.
It's the REST INTERVAL.
Too often we conflate activity with achievement. But when we're training for real speed, real power, or real strength?
The session should be a lot more standing around than working.
Because the prescribed work is to go at 100% - and that takes recovery time.
So rest when the training rx demands it.
