The millennial candidates are communicating on a different level.
Abdul El-Sayed: “We are being actively bullied by the dumbest people in the room. Donald Trump is an idiot. He has one genius which is getting attention. Because his dad never gave him enough, because he was a nepo baby, he craved attention and used the bullying tactics to get it. But the man is an idiot. Just a fool”

The “fix-it” bill advocates have been waiting for to repair the flawed e-bike law was introduced this week by @RajMukherji.
But it’s too late for some.
36 bike shops have closed in NJ since the new e-bike law was passed, and more are expected to close.

extremely common congestion pricing W
kinda funny how everyone freaked out over congestion pricing before it went into effect, but now that it’s working, everyone has moved on and it’s quietly reducing congestion & making the subway better

How does one cross this road safely? The closest marked crosswalk (which also doesn't look safe) is a full mile away. That's a 2 mile walk just to cross the road "safely"

Jersey City mourns the passing of Senator Sandra Cunningham, who spent years fighting to give our residents a fair chance to succeed.
First Lady. Senator. Activist. Trailblazer. Mentor. Friend. Sandra Cunningham meant so much to our city.
The first woman elected to represent our 31st Legislative District in the State Senate, she championed public education, college achievement, and a new generation of homegrown political and civic leaders. She fought for meaningful second chances for people returning from incarceration.
Following the passing of her husband, Mayor Glenn Cunningham, she carried their shared commitment forward, representing the same senate district, and giving the community a strong voice in Trenton.
Her legacy lives on in the students she supported, the residents she advocated for, and the people she helped open doors for. On behalf of the City of Jersey City, I extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her. In honor of her extraordinary contributions to the Jersey City she so loved, I have ordered all flags at city facilities to fly at half-mast.

time to invert this curve
America has 16,876 machine shops.
83% employ fewer than 20 people. Just nine employ more than 500.
New defense companies are moving from prototypes to mass production, and every missile, drone, ship, and rocket they ultimately produce needs to run through one of these small shops.
That friction is a national security liability.

Ezra Klein asked Bill Gates whether normal corporate incentives are enough to handle AI risks.
Gates doesn’t mince words:
...very interesting & somewhat troubling deep dive look at AI, its potential dangers without control and its potential benefits.
Keeping AI out of the hands of people with bad intentions will be the big challenge.

This is incredibly dangerous and will keep happening unless we step up and do something to put guardrails in place.
I’m concerned about what happens next. That’s why I’m taking action in the Senate and urging others to join me.

Elon Musk is an unstable right-wing grifter with more power than any one else in the world. But my liberal neighbor has convinced my city council to put in bike lanes on the road I use to commute to work. I have never felt more politically homeless.
If you’ve ever wanted to learn to change a flat on a bike, or you’ve watched videos but haven’t ever gotten the chance to practice, join @Bike JC this Saturday at Bergen Square day, where we’ll have two free Flat Fix Clinics at 2pm and 4pm! RSVPs are encouraged but not required.
