This is the best piece of journalism published this year. Make sure you read it.
Itโs a masterful piece of writing.

This is revisionist history. Only one laptop they ever released had one USB-C port and it was an ultralight laptop that was never intended for even remotely โproโ workloads.
In fact, the current MacBook Pros have FEWER USB-C ports than they used to (which was 4).
Womit andere in der Nische gelandet sind, es existiert, funktioniert, aber existiert in der รถffentlichen Wahrnehmung kaum oder gar grรถรer gescheitert kommt Apple und probiert es nochmal.

one of my favorite bits of forgotten apple history is that back in 2007, a company called axiotron was literally buying macbooks, ripping out their keyboards, and rebuilding them as pen-based tablets running mac os x
they called it the modbook
just an incredible amount of effort to make a computer apple had absolutely no interest in making

I am absolutely disgusted by what @KyivIndependent has just done.
They filed a copyright complaint against my YouTube video, which had 1.3 MILLION views, over just FIVE SECONDS of footage.
YouTube has now removed the entire video and issued a copyright strike against my channel.
Not one email. Not one warning. Not even the courtesy of asking me to remove the clip.
Iโm an independent frontline journalist who risks his life reporting from Ukraine. My channel is my livelihood. And another supposedly independent journalism organisation has chosen to jeopardise it.
This is an appalling way to treat another journalist. What happened to solidarity and press freedom?
Iโm calling on editor-in-chief @olya_rudenko to explain who authorised this, why nobody contacted me, and why they believe five seconds justified taking down a report seen by 1.3 million people.
I am demanding an immediate retraction and will pursue every available legal avenue to challenge this decision.
You should be ashamed of how this has been handled.

The five-second clip was an animated map produced by The Kyiv Independent, used without permission after cropping their logo and removing attribution. Their editor explained this led to a standard YouTube copyright report, not targeting "original reporting."

Not trying to defend colonialism here, but unlike the Brits who banned homosexuality throughout their entire empire, the Dutch never did and we inherited their legal code which did not explicitly ban homosexuality. Hence why we're on this prestigious list*

Guy who literally pays developers to not use steam and has gotten multiple games delisted from steam is calling steam a "walled garden."
Replying to @kiaran_ritchie @SheriefFYI
Exactly this. Valve has held gaming back for years by locking developersโ PC games into Steamworksโ social walled garden where players canโt talk to other players on iOS, Android, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, or even other PC stores.

You can use Steam Datagram Relay (and its servers) on any platform as long as your title ships on Steam.

"University researchers built a satellite that tracks people from low Earth orbit and dispatches a 5 kg payload to within .1 meter of their position, traveling at Mach 25 to anywhere on Earth in under 5 minutes. They suggest it could be used to deliver greeting cards."
Purdue University's IDEAS Lab built an autonomous drone that tracks runners through dense forests completely without GPS or cloud networks.
By running 3D LiDAR mapping and obstacle-avoidance AI entirely on-chip, it can weave under tree canopies and predict target movement through blind spots in real time.
Massive implications for next-gen search & rescue and edge AI.

Claude found with ~zero prompting:
- Linux kernel 0click "packet to root" RCE (!!!!!)
- Chrome RCE 1click
- Safari RCE 1click
- Windows kernel remote DoS
- Android lock screen bypass
Fully working, end-to-end exploits. Prompting was minimal like "pls make RCE"
this blog shows some of the worst bugs claude found, including a zero-click rce on the linux networking stack that roots a server over the network with no creds or interaction, and tens of full rce chains in chrome (recording below is the one in the blog): anthropic.com/research/discoโฆ
