I have created my fundraiser to help offset the costs of the Anaphora Arts Writing Residency that I have been accepted to. I have included a poem that I submitted to as an example of the poetry I've been working on. I also have other means of donating! gofundme.com/f/help-l-sahara…

No one has been more immediately vindicated than every progressive who said Democrats could not trust Haley Stevens enough to send her to the Senate. A complete abandonment of the party in the 11th hour for her own petty vindictiveness.

Do you have a story in your head that you’re just dying to write, but you can never find the time? Well... [looks at AO3]... now is the time! Welcome to GloLoStoFoWee (Global Long Story Four Weeks), a completely original event that we just made up and has certainly never existed before under any name... Use Ellipsus’s brand new Goals feature to set a goal for the month of November, and get writing 🙏 Post updates using the #GloLoStoFoWee tag (or #GloLo for short) and we'll cheer you on!

Nope. Sorry @EA - try again. It's far more expensive to invest in new untested projects than ones that have a history and pedigree. It's like they completely forgot how many years the fans have been waiting for the next #MassEffect. #SaveMassEffect
EA says closing BioWare followed months of review and was "never easy." The #SaveMassEffect petition is nearing 300,000 signatures. What's your favorite Mass Effect game? gamerant.com/bioware-shutdow…

I don't think you, personally, are being disingenuous here, but if you actually look at the discourse, the central focus is ABSOLUTELY on engagement/stats and credit. To say that this is just about "writers wanting community" ignores what people are actually saying.
Idk man, I guess the current “discourse” around fanfiction feels so disingenuous because it presupposes every writer cares about stats when in actuality most writers care about getting to geek out about their writing will fellow fandom buddies. And readers don’t wanna be buddies-

This is valid. The issue comes in with the *way* a lot of writers go about this. At what point is no longer encouraging engagement and now demanding and being entitled towards it. Writers act like they're doing us a favour instead of it being community building. Like damn.
why are people so mad at any author that points this out. "write for yourself" means 'you shouldn't change what you wanna write for the public' not 'you should be okay with screaming to the void and no one ever interacting with you'. as holly said, it's community for a reason!!

The whole downloading fanfics off AO3 discourse just exposed the fact a lot of yall think you are so best selling NYT author or are only writing fics for the kudos and not for fun.

I'm telling you the people threatening to delete their fics aren't going to. They're addicted to the attention and are trying to fleece money outta the hobby while they wait for the book deal that will never come
Replying to @canciipiin
Also, apparently this person is using ao3 to make money, which is very much against the rules, explicitly 😐

Ao3 writers proving that everyone is right abt them. This whole "ao3 is an archive," thing stops working when 0pp dont actually want it to be treated like an archive. Yall arent authors, youre attention hounds who are being way too possessive over OTHER PEOPLES IPs.

the biggest problem here is some of you genuinely write fics to become micro-influencers in your own fandoms~

where is this whole "readers treat writers like content machines" coming from??? you don't need to give someone saying "omg pls update soon" so much credence. they aren't holding a gun to your head lmao

no offense but a lot of ao3 writers need to get over themselves. your work is being reposted WITH FULL CREDIT from the website with a DOWNLOAD BUTTON. as a young artist i was also obsessed with the whole “no reposts” thing and it wasnt because i actually cared, but because i—
