! Republican Brandon Herrera in #TX23 (Trump+15 in 2024) is running an ad touting his opposition to the Trump administration's proposed border wall construction in Big Bend national park. "When Big Bend faced unnecessary construction that didn't make the border any more secure, I brought the fight directly to the Department of Homeland Security in Washington, D.C., and pressured them to stop the project." Herrera, a right-wing gun YouTuber endorsed by Trump, is running to represent the largest stretch of the U.S.-Mexico border in a single House district.

Of the last 34 polls of the TX Senate race going back to early Aug, Ken Paxton led in 1. Granted, many are in the margin of error, but if Paxton wins this when almost every poll showed him behind it will be quite the poll-defying moment

And now a third TX Sheriff says he never endorsed Abbott. I guess losing campaigns make up endorsements.
A second Democratic sheriff on @GregAbbott_TX’s endorsement list says he did not endorse the governor. Val Verde Sheriff Joe Frank Martinez’s statement:

Neil Bush, brother of one President Bush & son of another President Bush, just posted that he voted for @JamesTalarico. Neil still lives in the same neighborhood as father did for decades here in Houston.

A really, really bad sign for Ken Paxton's campaign. Harris County (biggest in Texas) had more than 104K people vote on the 1st day of early voting. That is a 65% increase from 2018 when Beto O'Rourke won the county by 200K and nearly beat Ted Cruz.

I just cast my ballot for James Talarico. As a second-generation Indian American, I am thoroughly disgusted by the xenophobia, racial resentment, and increasingly brazen attacks on my identity. My family has contributed to the American story through hard work, sacrifice, and an unwavering belief in the opportunities this nation promises. I am every bit as American as anyone else, and I will not tolerate being treated as a perpetual foreigner in the country I call home. I implore every eligible Texan to get out and vote. This election is about the kind of state and country we are prepared to defend—and the principles we refuse to surrender. @TeamTalaricoHQ @texasdemocrats

Texas just has a lot more Republicans than Democrats. That means Talarico needs to do overwhelmingly well with independents and get some vote shift among GOPers, or activate enough new voters to offset that. tinyurl.com/3zv3caa2
