$CRWV seems to be trying to find a short-term bottom (possibly). Confirmation would first be a move above $58 then $60. A hold above that first range, could then see a move back up towards mid/upper $60s.

"Elite" fitness = 5x lower all-cause mortality than low fitness! In Mandsager et al. (2018), the elite group averaged 13.8 METs at the end of a treadmill test (~48 ml/kg/min VO₂ equivalent). How rare is that level of fitness? A VO₂max approaching 50 in your 70s is well beyond the 99th percentile, i.e. <1 in 100 people. And yes, in that context... "Elite" = elite endurance-athlete levels of training! Better get to work.

Excess body fat can harm your health. But being normal weight doesn’t guarantee you’re healthy. A meta-analysis of 10 studies found that normal-weight but unfit people had higher all-cause and cardiovascular mortality risk than people with obesity who were fit. Normal-weight, fit people had the lowest risk. (PMID: 24438729) Fitness reflects how well your body functions, whereas body weight alone doesn’t. Both matter. Graph: PMID: 34755078

Habits from the habits guy. “Habits that have a high rate of return in life: – sleeping 8+ hours each day – lifting weights 3x week – going for a walk each day – saving at least 10 percent of your income – reading every day – drinking more water and less of everything else – leaving your phone in another room while you work” - James Clear

Higher LDL-C increases the risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease in a dose- and time-dependent manner. But that relationship is probabilistic, not deterministic. If you require absolute certainty before accepting the evidence, you're going to be disappointed. Almost nothing in biology works that way.

Think in years. Act in days. Every patient wants a result by next month. Sustainable results take years. Next year decides what kind of work you do today. Today decides whether the results will come. Look at the calendar twice. Then close it and go do today.

Buying into $140 and selling above $160 worked well again. Piling in above $160 not so much... $SPCX now $20 off yesterday's highs.

A great interview with @ppearlman. The parallels between investing/retirement/compound interest with health/wellness/longevity are many & @ppearlman highlights many examples.
🎙️ Episode 24 of the Humans vs Retirement Podcast is live! 🎉 💊 It's a brilliant conversation with @ppearlman on how health & wealth are two sides of the same coin, looking at the importance of health in retirement and how it can impact our overall well-being. Here are 3 key takeaways from our discussion: 1️⃣ Start small: Taking small steps towards a healthier lifestyle can have a big impact. Whether it's going for a walk, cooking at home, or incorporating resistance training, every little effort counts. 2️⃣ Rediscover your passions: Retirement is the perfect time to reconnect with activities you loved in your youth. Whether it's playing tennis, golf, or joining a sports club, pursuing your passions can bring joy and improve your health. 3️⃣ Close the gap between healthspan and lifespan: We all want to live longer, but it's equally important to focus on staying healthy for as long as possible. Building muscle mass, maintaining bone density, and nurturing relationships are key factors in prolonging our healthspan. If you're interested in learning more about how to prioritise your health in retirement, I highly recommend listening to the full episode.
