Samsung’s decline is already a foregone conclusion. You might say that it still has high sales, but decline isn’t linear—once the core users leave in large numbers, the company is in real danger. Those “new users” gained through superficial marketing are not loyal at all, and Samsung has gradually become a replaceable brand. At this point, Samsung’s only remaining advantages are its geopolitical position and user habits. But even these are not permanent. As users become more aware, they are beginning to see Samsung for what it is: a profit-driven brand. TM Roh is a businessman with zero brand ambition, and Jay Y. Lee is just another rich heir who lacks real leadership. Going forward, I’m very optimistic about Xiaomi; vivo and OPPO are also strong contenders.
