If you a few mins please watch this vid - Rowan Atkinson eloquently supporting free speech & the right to offend. I passionately agree - "taking offense" is a ludicrous and damaging concept that leads to censorship & intolerance of different opinions x youtube.com/watch?v=BiqDZlAZ…

Why are we paying benefits to ANYONE in a psychiatric units, whose housing, food and CARE is already entirely paid for by the NHS i.e. our taxes - why? This is truly insane! #benefits

Here in womanland we don't judge how much of a woman someone is based on how attractive they are. It's just based on whether they are actually a woman or not.

It is not respectful to millions of women to refer to them as owners of body parts so as to non offend a tiny percentage of people who are pretending to be a different sex to the one they actually are. I’m hugely offended by the words mother or woman being removed.
Another Welsh health board casually erasing women 🤦‍♀️ @AneurinBevanUHB responded: “we consider it to be respectful." Women don't feel respected when we are addressed as a set of body parts. It’s offensive. Please call us by our name. Women. southwalesargus.co.uk/news/2…

Bravo Bill Maher for this…
Bill Maher just awarded J.K. Rowling the Cojones Lifetime Achievement Award for refusing to bow to public pressure over her views on biological sex. Bill Maher says Rowling is famous for being endlessly vilified for refusing to cow-tow to the opinion that a biological woman and a trans woman are indistinguishable. Bill Maher: “I’m sorry you had to hear that kids feel free to call a suicide hotline or post an angry TikTok.”

The BBC has announced a two-part documentary on J.K. Rowling. I’d like to be wrong, but I’m not optimistic she gets a fair shake. Episode one is a victory lap: the Edinburgh cafés, the books, the billions. Episode two is where the trouble starts. It frames her as “one of Britain’s most polarising public figures,” and the producer says her “unflinching personal beliefs” sparked a “fraught and divisive dialogue.” That’s not a biography. That’s a setup. Notice the pattern. The BBC casts her views — keeping women safe from predatory men in female only spaces — as the problem. The release says she finds herself divided from actors and fans who once championed her. It never mentions the women she was defending. It also doesn’t say who will be interviewed other than to say it will include “people who worked with her.” Full disclosure: @trishaposner and I share a London literary agent with her. But after four decades reporting on controversial subjects, I don’t pull punches for anyone. I recently walked away from Simon & Schuster, my publisher of many years, over its refusal to condemn a novelist’s vile anti-Jewish hatred. I’m not defending Rowling out of loyalty. Her activism has been one of the great campaigns for women everywhere. She never asked for the fight and never ran from it, and she took on enormous powers to protect women. I admire and stand with J.K. Rowling. I hope the BBC proves me wrong but I am not counting on it.

This is so grossly unfair. I’m disgusted at the lack of care & consideration for the females in these races. Their mental health is utterly disposable for the sake a males who want to be something they are not!
What must be going through her mind. The adults have not only failed these girls, they are inflicting psychological abuse on them, gaslighting and guilting them, assuming none of them will stand up and say "no". Well done to those who had the courage.

If this is a balanced documentary, it will be present the two sides: one of reason, science and kindness, the other of ignorance, fingers in the ears, death threats and insanity. The beeb will be losing my license fee if it is anything other - @BBC @JohnCleese @jk_rowling #truth
If it is polarising to state the scientific truth, then we have ended the era of rational debate - thanks to the hidden agenda of the BBC

Biggest request for future Glastonbury sales is that we’re told the number of people in front of us. At least that way if you’re 100,000th in the queue you know you might as well just sack it off, rather than having to sit for 45 mins staring at two green squares. @seetickets

@glastonbury I have a wild idea - how about once all the tickets are sold, the queue moves to the following year? Then everyone who wants to gets to go at some point in their lives :) #Glastonbury #twobars

Unbelievable that this could be happening in Britain The police are certainly causing me anxiety
British police arrest a man for sharing a social media post that caused somebody "anxiety". 🤡 "Why am I in cuffs because of something he shared, then I shared?" "Because someone has been caused anxiety based upon your social media post. That's why you've been arrested."

Tim Curry was one of the greats. He was my Pennywise. Terrifying as the Lord of Darkness in Legend. Hilarious as Long John Silver in Muppet Treasure Island. Every time he was on screen in Clue, he was electric. I’m not okay with this. Rest well, Tim.
