Some are more equal then others, Peter Devlies, the CEO of Argenta is very equal.
Bij Argenta vindt men nu blijkbaar dat klanten max. €1 mln mogen bezitten, eigen huis inbegrepen. Hoe zit dat dan met de familie Van Rompuy, de familiale aandeelhouder van de bank, die zelf €3,3 miljard waard is?

Anthropic’s measured AI capability gains accelerated, but R&D spending grew faster, according to an analysis of METR’s data. Progress per dollar fell 63% between the first halves of 2025 and 2026, even as annual progress nearly doubled.

It’s good to be union leader! I could buy a Mac Studio M5 512 Gb per month Bert Engelaar, ABVV union leader, refuses to make his salary public.
No problem, then I'll just do it for him… €16,600 gross per month as president of the ABVV. Every month.
And that's without counting his 13 other mandates. A salary funded 100% by membership fees.
So there you have it: that's what the members' money goes to, and that's what they mean by equality and solidarity. "Give me your watch, and I'll tell you what time it is. That way we're all equal…" The son of two tenured civil servants in education, Engelaar studied social work in Ghent and started working at the ABVV Scheldeland region in 2001. In his entire life, the guy has worked zero days in industry or the private sector, as a blue-collar worker, a white-collar employee, or anything else. And that's the man who is going to tell everyone how working people feel today, and who points at others when the conversation turns to the broadest shoulders. His own employer, despite holding billions in assets, has never paid a single euro in corporate tax. There are tens of thousands of people in this country who can build an entire subsidised career on social struggle, inequality, discrimination, gender inequality and countless other causes, without ever creating a single euro of economic added value themselves. Cutting back on that should be an open goal.
Not that the union will ever make that a point of contention. In 2025 there were more than a million strike days, or 313 per 1,000 employees. Never before had there been more.
And 2026 still looks set to break that record… In an age when fridges and freezers are connected, the union remains disconnected from any economic reality. Hundreds of thousands of jobs are being cut just to survive economically in the competition with the US, China and India. 100,000 jobs at Volkswagen, 8,000 at BMW, 5,000 at Porsche, 3,460 at Schaeffler, 1,600 at Continental, 5,000 at Barclays, 3,000 at Commerzbank, 5,000 at Spain's Telefónica, 900 at Telia in Sweden, 800 at United Internet, and since yesterday KLM has joined the list with another 5,000. And it's not as if the Dutch comrades were new to this, because Heineken had already announced 6,000… Bert isn't losing any sleep over it, and keeps fighting for the social gains of a society that stopped existing long ago. That's what you get when your salary doesn't come from economic activity. (Article by Marc van Eerd.

Can you imagine we had to say this: “Protect the datacenters” @OfficialBBrooks @DavidDTawil So sad to see this…
AI BACKLASH ERUPTS: Protesters break into a Microsoft data center construction site in Amsterdam, scaling fences and climbing a massive crane as demonstrators clash with police. ⠀ Activists are attempting to occupy the site and halt construction, citing concerns over the enormous amounts of energy and water consumed by AI infrastructure. ⠀ Dutch authorities say between 150 and 200 people were detained on suspicion of trespassing as demonstrations spread across Europe. Organizers are planning protests in 15 countries. ⠀ Amsterdam is just one flashpoint in a growing movement. ⠀ Download the Fox News app or go to Foxnews.com for more.

🇺🇸 Anthropic was gearing up for the biggest IPO in history. Now investors are talking about a $500 BILLION haircut. The AI giant was targeting a $1.5 trillion valuation and a record $100 billion raise the week before Thanksgiving. But after this week's AI bloodbath, 3 major investors say the price will likely have to come down. One puts it closer to $1 TRILLION. Yesterday alone, Nasdaq companies lost $2.5 trillion in value as fears of tougher data center restrictions following the midterms hammered AI stocks. Anthropic's annualized revenue run rate topped $80 billion in October, but executives now face a choice: slash the valuation, raise less money, or delay the IPO altogether. Just months ago, investors were calling Anthropic a "must-own." Now they're looking for a discount. Source: WSJ / Writer: Julie
