I didn’t blame the government, I explained the reason I didn’t agree with voting for Labour last year and some of the reasons for that. Including u turn on manifestos etc. I thought that was clear throughout? How odd.
Yep! I’m not thinking I’m going to get taxed at 20% just more what’s the incentive to get a pay rise, or throw kids in to the mix to keep working at all…. Then who covers the bills… The replies are really alarming…

I give all the fucks. What is saying is you can’t tax the f continually out of people on £50k to pay for those, or they’ll become the poor as f people, or just stop working as there is no incentive to….

A £27,456 baseline wage against a frozen £50,270 threshold means the entire career progression of the British working class is being squeezed into an absurdly narrow band.
Factor in fiscal drag and student loan repayments, and middle earners face punitive marginal tax rates before they have even built a modest savings pot.
Mandating wage hikes without underlying productivity growth does not raise living standards; it simply fuels inflation and destroys the incentive to upskill.
Out mortgage is £2.6k we bought it on a 5% deposit. As we don’t come from £. I’m not getting anything wrong. Just sharing that we find it tough to have the life you would imagine on the salaries we earn. Gosh everyone is really preaching be kind then being so angry & judgey here.
Excuse me for not sharing my payslip on the internet or my exact salary but I paid £61k in tax last year. My partner paid £26k.
