Same.
I don’t understand why Ontario didn’t vote out Doug Ford in his stupid snap election. Y’all fucked that up, and I still hate you all for being such a lazy bunch of gooches

Since Doug Ford came into power in 2018, Homelessness has increased by 25% across Ontario. Since Chow came to power in Toronto, Homelessness decreased by 8% in the City.
If you voted for Olivia Chow… why? I genuinely want to try and understand.

Health insurance data in Germany show people infected with Covid who develop long Covid experience 46.1 sick days in the year after infection. The delta vs acute-only Covid: +26.5. That’s ~18% of the year lost to preventable illness + an increased chronic disease burden. 🧵1

Hand sanitizer is helpful if you are planning to stick your fingers in your mouth or nose or rub your eyes. I sometimes wonder if people think airborne viruses are absorbed through the skin. (Spoiler: airborne pathogens are in the air & you breathe them.)
Repeat after me: Hand sanitizer will not stop you from catching an airborne virus.

Torontonians are still living in John Tory's mess. He was administratively incompetent not to mention, corrupt. He doubled down on the failed policies of Rob Ford that drove the poor into unhoused despair in favour of low taxes and luxury housing for the ultra rich, plus a fucked up transit plan that was literally designed on a napkin. That's one hell of a mess. It will take at least 10 years to get Toronto back on track toward a livable future. Brad has spent this whole campaign blaming Olivia for the giant mess he helped create with John Tory. A candidate who's entire message is lie after lie after lie will be a disaster as Mayor. Olivia deserves your trust with your vote. Please do the right thing, Torontonians, and re-elect Olivia! #topoli

I am not a huge Chow fan either. I genuinely like her as a person, I think she’s a work in progress as a mayor, and I’ve been disappointed. But! I live in Bradford’s ward, and I have seen enough to know he’s solely about himself and I don’t trust him. Can’t vote for him.
I am not a huge Chow fan but can we be real for a second… she’s been Mayor for barely 3 years, not even a full term. There are full 1 term Mayors in Canada with far less impressive records. If you’re mad about Toronto today it’s probably John Tory’s fault.

Canadian PM Mark Carney told the NYT in September that he wanted to "diversify away from Starlink." A scant few weeks later, the Musk/Trump/Starlink cartel f*cked Ukraine to serve Putin. Carney - speaking frankly - now says replacing and even banning Starlink is now top priority.

Ugandan airports need to prevent passengers from boarding aircraft in Uganda if they’ve been to the DRC in the previous ~3 weeks.
Could Nigeria and Kenya’s first Ebola cases in this outbreak be linked? Both patients passed through Uganda’s Entebbe airport on 3 October. Africa CDC is investigating possible contact or shared facilities, but says no link has been established. bbc.in/4dT4tjQ

BREAKING: Jared Kushner’s hacked iPhone revealed that Kushner promised MBS and MBZ he would push their agenda with Trump if they participated in a secret fund, with the two royals initially discussing over $10 billion before ultimately placing at least $2 billion into accounts for him, according to a Vanity Fair excerpt from Princes and Thieves. The revelation lands as Kushner remains deeply involved in Iran war diplomacy, while Tehran has separately accused him and Steve Witkoff of pocketing $9 billion through market manipulation.

Interesting to see this in writing, but it was obvious it was heading this direction via chronic infections. Covid is evolving to avoid even more of the inbuilt immune responses. Expect more and more chronic infection.
In new study, we show that SARS-CoV-2 has evolved decreased inherent antigenicity in humans, as quantified by a ~3-fold decrease in the number of naïve human B cells that can bind the spike RBD. doi.org/10.64898/2026.10.15.…

Well, well, well… For the record, the whole “Covid will evolve to become milder & more benign over time” thing was always a lie. This raises a lot of concerning questions. I would like to once again point out we have no idea what we are doing.
This is a very interesting study from Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. It suggests that SARS-CoV-2 may be evolving in a way that makes it increasingly difficult for the human immune system to recognize the virus in the first place—not simply harder for existing antibodies to neutralize it. So now one has to wonder whether if fewer naïve human B cells can recognize an evolved virus, will the vaccines even work? Will they have a difficult time recruiting genuinely new B-cell specificities? Doesn't this seem like an issue worth considering @FDADrugs @FDA @CDC @NIHDirector_Jay? There are so many things to say but at the very least, at the VERY LEAST…. if you must be out in public while sick … please please please please please… wear a mask to reduce chances of transmission of WHATEVER airborne pathogen plagues you.
There was so much coughing in my high school kid’s friend’s science class that the teacher asked, “Does anyone have COVID right now?” and 6 kids raised their hands (out of about 25) 🤦🏻‍♀️

I lived in Toronto during the 70’s when David Crombie and John Sewell were Mayors. They both had a social conscience as does Olivia Chow. With Doug Ford as Premier, Toronto more than ever needs a Mayor with a social conscience.
