Love this, chandler simpson getting his pre pitch dialed in during BP. So many players neglect these reps during BP because of the focus. Watch his eyes and body move in the direction the ball is hit. It’s the little things. #Worldseries

The Rays’ formula for winning baseball: • MLB’s lowest strikeout rate (18.6%)
• AL-best batting average
• AL-best stolen base total Now they’re AL champions and heading to the World Series. They’re proof you don’t have to out-slug everyone to win. Put the ball in play, run the bases and make the other team defend.

NLCS MVP Jake Bauers shares how letting go of results helped him find a different level of freedom as a competitor. "I think what changed for me this year was I stopped caring about results. I started caring about competing. I started caring about being in the moment and getting out of my own way." Sometimes, the biggest obstacle to performing at your best isn't a lack of preparation or ability. It's the pressure you place on yourself to produce a particular outcome. You become so concerned with what you want to happen that you lose touch with what the moment actually requires. Any performer can unlock a new level when they learn how to be fully invested in the competition without becoming imprisoned by the outcome. 🎥: Fox Sports

Stop what you’re doing and watch this 11 pitch Jake Bauers AB. Even if you know how it ends it’s still a worthwhile watch. Incredible.

As parents, we have a job to do, and it’s not to make everything easy for our children. Take the emotion out of this short clip for a moment and really listen to the message. Sometimes the greatest thing we can do for our kids is allow them to face challenges, experience adversity, and learn how to work through difficult situations. Our job isn't to remove every obstacle. It's to prepare them to overcome them. So good. 👏
Are we helping kids… or teaching them to run from hard things? I see this all the time in schools. A student has a problem with a teacher, coach, classmate, or situation, and too often the first response is to remove the problem. Switch the class. Quit the team. Avoid the conversation. Have the parent step in and fix it. I understand the instinct. We don’t want to see our kids struggle. But Dr. Becky Kennedy said something powerful: “The more you optimize for happiness in childhood, the more you actually wire for anxiety in adulthood.” Kids need to learn that disappointment is survivable. Conflict is survivable. Failure is survivable. Being uncomfortable is survivable. Sometimes the best thing we can do for kids isn’t remove the hard thing. It’s help them learn how to walk through it.

Love this @GabbyGoleski!! @UVAWiseSB just added an incredible person, a tremendous teammate, and a young woman who happens to be really, really good at softball. Couldn’t be happier for you, Gabby!!
I am SO excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and softball career at UVA Wise!! Thank you @CoachTSeg , Coach Kelly, and @UVAWiseSB for making my dream come true! I want to start off by thanking my parents for all the support and sacrifices you have made for me to pursue my dream. I want to thank my siblings for always being there to practice with me, even though I know you didn’t always want to. Most importantly, I want to give all the glory to God because he is the true reason all of these blessings are in my life! A huge thank you to all my current and former coaches and teammates! You have all taught me so much about not only softball, but also life. You are all a huge part of the reason I am the player I am today. I also want to give a special shoutout to my dad for being by my side every step of the way! I am so excited for this next chapter and so grateful for everyone who has helped me get here. “Flush it.” Bryce Harper misjudged a fly ball in the 7th inning that helped Atlanta take the lead. One inning later? He hit a 418-foot game-tying home run. Afterward, Harper said he thought about what he would tell his 10-year-old son after making a mistake: Flush it. Move on. I love that. We put so much pressure on kids to perform perfectly. But success isn’t about never making mistakes. It’s about learning from them without letting one mistake become two. That might be one of the most important skills we can teach athletes: Learn from it. Flush it. Next play.
