UNSUNG HERO 🇺🇸❤️ Today, I want to highlight someone who represents the very best of @USDA: Annette James, our Branch Chief of Printing Services. Annette became a mother as a teenager and began working at USDA in April 1987, when she was just 17 years old. Nearly 40 years later, she has dedicated her career to serving this Department and the American people with extraordinary professionalism, grace, and commitment. If you’ve ever seen a USDA program, poster, exhibit, briefing book, or printed product, chances are Annette and the incredible team in our South Building print shop helped make it happen. Randy, Michael, Marcus, and the entire Printing Services team work tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure USDA’s work is presented with excellence — often on tight deadlines and always with tremendous pride. USDA works because of people like Annette and her team — dedicated public servants who may not always be in the spotlight, but whose hard work keeps this Department moving every single day. Today marks the end of the 2026 water-cycle year under President Trump’s leadership, strengthened engagement on the 1944 U.S. Mexico Water Treaty, and working with President Sheinbaum, Mexico met its commitment to deliver at least 350,000 acre-feet of water this year. Building upon last year’s delivery of more water in one year than during the entirety of the Biden administration, this means for the first time since the first Trump administration that this milestone has been met two years in a row! But the work is NOT done. Continued, reliable water deliveries and repayment of outstanding water debt remain critical for South Texas farmers and ranchers who depend on this water to sustain their operations and feed our nation. Thank you to @SecRubio and his team for their strong partnership. Despite the immense challenge of limited resources and complex negotiations, together we are delivering for American agriculture and safeguarding the water our producers need!
