Partygate…please note
‘Investigations found key Partygate allegations were false’ And yet the PC used these false more ‘hair raising’ examples to say Boris ‘should have’ known what was going on inside every corner of a massive building. The lady who produced the report containing these lies went to work for Starmer. We know they were lies because the lady herself instructed Starmer to remove them from a speech when she was his chief of staff. Maybe those who believe all the nonsense re Boris should at least take look at who is saying them and take a step back and ask yourself: ‘Who gains because I believe the nonsense?’

Cap on skilled migrants was removed in 2018 by Sajid Javid and the rest was the incompetent Home Office
People still think the post-Brexit migration surge was down to Whitehall incompetence. It wasn't—it was @BorisJohnson's deliberate design. In 2020, Johnson used his 80-seat majority not to tighten our borders, but to rip up the rules: 1. Abolished the cap on skilled workers entirely. 2. Removed the requirement to advertise vacancies in the UK first. 3. Unleashed the social care route, creating a multi-billion-pound visa farm for low-wage middlemen. His own advisers revealed Boris’s gut instinct was always open borders; he told No. 10 staff he had zero interest in restricting numbers. He used Dover dinghies as political theatre while waving in nearly 4 million long-term visas through Heathrow. The Tories didn't fail on immigration; they knowingly delivered exactly what the Treasury and big business ordered. Reversing the Boriswave is where accountability begins.

Andy Haldane interview: **The financial situation is precarious - the penny hasn't dropped in No 10** 'The penny has not yet fully dropped, including in Downing Street. You see that in us having the highest borrowing costs in the G7, despite not having the highest debts and deficits 'It’s the old [Ernest] Hemingway thing, isn’t it? How do you go bankrupt? First slowly, then very quickly. 'Keir [Starmer] lost the dressing room. Andy’s biggest risk is that he loses the dealing room. And then that’s an even more painful way to go, as Liz Truss would tell you.' **Britain is at or close to being taxed out** 'The truth is, as a nation, we are at or close to being taxed out,” he says. “And we are at or close to being maxed out in terms of borrowing. 'So for me, the economics of this are very straightforward. We have a public sector, a government sector with a balance sheet whose productivity has failed to rise this century. And we have a private sector which is actually primed, its balance sheet is in good shape. 'If you want good growth in every postcode — dear God, I want that as much as the next man, probably just as much as Andy in fact — the root is by unlocking those animal spirits and that means a smaller state, lower taxes and that means lower government spending and tough choices around that' **The economy could 'crater' without spending cuts** “This is not a hypothetical risk. Look across the Channel, not just to what’s happening in France, but what’s happening in Greece or Italy or Portugal or Spain a decade and a bit ago. Avoid that like the plague 'Because when you are forced involuntarily into making much more draconian cuts to appease financial markets and get them back on side that will, one, crater the economy. And, two, almost certainly crater your popularity 'That for me is the peril that comes from prevarication on this front. The peril that comes from not using up political capital and making hard choices' **A 'mañana' Budget does not speak to the urgency of now** 'The public finances dimension is of course a real concern for me. I feel the time to get on top of that is now because who knows what might turn up tomorrow. And a mañana budget doesn’t speak to the urgency of now 'The mañana choices will not be easier tomorrow. They’re going to be much harder. So backloading them, crossing your fingers and hoping that the weather turns, for me would not be the preferred course, would not be the prudent course, and risks next year being even more of a heavy lift than would otherwise be the case' **Banking taxes are 'penny wise, pound foolish'** 'The point that actually weighs with me most heavily is that this isn’t just about the banks. If you are felt to be a country that is in the business of doing windfall taxes — if you earn profits, the taxman cometh — that is not a hospitable environment for investors. 'It means you mark down the value of UK businesses and mark up the cost of lending money to those businesses. And that is not a good growth strategy over the medium term. Penny wise, pound foolish' **What does ending 40 years of neoliberalism mean?** 'Have you been to Manchester? You know it’s the embodiment of neoliberalism done well. Success is founded on being a magnetic attractor of capital, or people, of business and culture. That’s what the UK should become' **What does public control of utilities mean?** 'From kind of full fat nationalisation, which would cost an arm and a leg, right through to tinkering with the regulatory rules. If you’re in the water industry, the energy industry, parts of the transport industry, investors are saying, ‘Hang on a sec, I’m not putting money in here.' thetimes.com/uk/politics/art…

It has been revealed what Irans key demands are in negotiations with the US to end the war: -Lift all blockade of Irans economy including sanctions and naval. -Remove all sanctions political and economic. -Stop hostilities in Yemen, Iraq, Lebanon and Gaza. -Release all frozen Iranian assets from banks. -Pay reparations for the war damage and withdraw US troops from the region. This is just never going to happen.

This is really terrible. Absolutely shameful.
Henry Nowak’s family have said they were “manipulated in our darkest hour” by police after his murder. The 18-year-old’s family have said they felt “hoodwinked” by police in the immediate aftermath of his death and the weeks and months that followed. 🔗 telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/11…

Here’s Shabana Mahmood admitting that the cost of not implementing her previous changes in full would cost £10 billion (on March 5th at the IPPR) And she says the changes would apply to people here already It looks like Angela Rayner has stopped her doing what she said just a few months ago was necessary The Home Secretary clearly no longer runs the government’s immigration policy

Replying to @JJansaSDS
You missed one: Destroying the democratically-elected Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson (plus a number of his pro-Brexit allies) for daring to uphold the democratic mandate of the British people to Leave the European Union and replacing him with EU-sympathetic puppet leaders.

About time!! Matt finally recognising that each PM has control of the immigration levers. Truss, Sunak and Starmer all escape the scrutiny they deserved. Now can we have some honesty about the actual ‘Boris Wave’ that was Sunak’s…

Oh ffs now I’ve heard it all. Brexit’s responsible for the demands for reparations. Manveen Ranah. Never fails. Please @thetimes and @TimesRadio get some better balance. Your left-leaning Remain journalists are in such a bubble they’re increasingly ludicrous. Unlistenable.

Mr Burnham should remind the world that the UK led the movement to ban slavery. The Royal Navy sacrificed sailors’ lives and spent much money stopping the evil trade.

Henry Nowak’s family were told there were 'no concerns' with officer conduct by the police watchdog, the IOPC. In an exclusive interview with ITV News UK Editor @PaulBrandITV, the family says they were unaware of the contents of officers’ bodycam footage from the scene of the crime, which detailed the 'horrific' final moments of their son's life. Speaking publicly for the first time, Henry's father, Mark and stepmother, Katie, said they only saw the video on the first day of the trial of their son's killer. Watch 'Dear Henry: Our Fight for Justice' on November 5th, 9pm, on ITV1, ITVX or stream on YouTube via the link in our bio. #henrynowak

🧵For 4 years and 8 months, Moscow swore Volodymyr Zelenskyy was an illegitimate leader unworthy of a phone call. Then Ukraine hit a rocket fuel plant, 2 oil refineries, and Moscow's main airport in 1 morning, and the Kremlin rushed to take his call. 1/🧵
