One of the hardest things to do in politics but Jim is spot on (not just for Abdul, but in general this last week). It’s change the subject season and unless your opponent hands you a gift (looking at you Vivek), don’t let them move the discussion away from winning turf
Trump wants Democrats to take the bait. With eight days left in Michigan’s Senate race, the focus needs to stay on affordability and what voters are dealing with. I discussed that with @PeterAlexander on MS NOW this morning.

Only one generational talent in Columbus and he wears No. 4
Ohio: @VivekGRamaswamy is a generational talent and he’ll be an excellent governor, leading your state to great success.
Amy Acton is a woke Covid-tyrant leftist who will ruin you.
The contrast is stark.
Don’t wreck your future.
Get out the vote for Vivek! 🇺🇸

K I think we can safely retire the polling discourse and conclude that shit is terrible for Republicans rn
They are likely going to have a significant $ advantage in weeks 3-1 & October surprises are a thing so no spiking footballs
But fellow Ds: it's okay to believe the #s

What got me nodding was "if politics cannot deliver on the block where you live, why would you trust it to deliver anywhere in your city."
When we talk about "TRUST," loss of faith in the ability of gov to deliver is deeply at its core.
1000% this from Mayor Mamdani. Take notes
🚨 At the U20 Mayors Summit, Mamdani Says the Left Has Ceded “Quality of Life,” “Efficiency,” and “Fraud and Waste” to the Right
This was one of the more interesting arguments Zohran Mamdani made today at the U20 Mayors Summit, and a reminder that he can be genuinely sharp when he drops the “central casting” routine.
“In New York City, there are certain words that have taken on ideological associations.”
“Quality of life has come to be seen as somehow a right-wing concern. Efficiency… has been taken on as a right-wing concern, rooting out fraud and waste, a right-wing concern.”
Mamdani’s argument is that refusing to engage those issues actually helps the Right.
“If you are staring at an example of social disorder or social inefficiency, and the left refuses to explain either why it has happened or how they will fix it, then the right gets to point at someone in the immediate area and say, ‘That’s who did it.’”
The harder question is how much of the broader Left is actually prepared to follow the advice.

IMO the way Mamdani has transformed himself from a pretty broadly unpopular figure nationally before the election into one of the rare net popular political figures in America *through his governance* might be even more impressive than his actual win in 2025.

I am so glad he referenced the Wendy's Spicy Chicken sandwich. It was, in my world, the unquestioned king of fast food sandwiches and it is now SHIT. It's not just the lettuce choice. The whole thing is now shit. It's a turd.
Wendy's and Jersey Mike's have gotten worse — and @stavvybaby knows why:
"It's getting s***tier because some d***head who's never f***ing spread mayo in his life decided, 'Oh no, actually, instead of a sandwich, this is now a commodity.'"

Critically, Frances isn’t…RUNNING FOR GOVERNOR
This is rich, she’s a political operative from Philadelphia.
The only person on @RobSandIA’s campaign that is actually from Iowa is @LauraRBelin.
