LABOURERS RISING — BUILDING THE NEXT GENERATION 🟧🇨🇦🇺🇸
We are more than workers — we are Labourers.
We build the roads, pipelines, bridges, tunnels, refineries and communities that keep this country moving. We work hard, we stand together, and we take pride in the work we leave behind.
But our greatest responsibility isn’t only what we build today — it’s who we inspire to build tomorrow.
The next generation of Labourers is watching us. Let’s teach them the value of hard work, brotherhood, respect, safety and standing together. Let’s give them something worth carrying forward.
We built the foundation.
They will build what comes next.
From one generation of Labourers to the next — keep rising, keep building, and never forget where you came from.
LABOURERS RISING.
ONE GENERATION. ONE BROTHERHOOD/SISTERHOOD

If you are a hockey fan I think we’re at the point where you need to watch every Oilers game you can. I don’t care what team you’re a fan of. This is outrageous hockey being played by 97.

Yesterday, we broke ground on The Benjamin, a new 58-storey rental community in the heart of Toronto’s Entertainment District.
This LiUNA Pension Fund of Central and Eastern Canada project, developed with Fengate Asset Management, the Hi-Rise Group and SG will bring 528 new rental homes to the city, including 10 affordable units. It will also preserve the historic Benjamin Brown building, carrying an important piece of Toronto’s architectural heritage into the future.
This is what long-term investment can do: create good union jobs, add much-needed homes and help build vibrant communities for generations to come. I’m proud to see LiUNA’s legacy of building and investing in the places our members call home continue in downtown Toronto.
Congratulations to our entire team!

"I just wanted to get the win today for her and for the team. This one, I think, meant a little bit more."

Our Vice President and Regional Manager, Bob Abbott, and Local 1271 Business Manager, Launa Wakefield recently visited Fortis Construction at the Project Cosmo site where they connected with Fortis leadership and our members.
During the visit, they participated in a toolbox talk and heard directly from our members about their firsthand experiences working on the Project Cosmo site with Fortis.
These site visits are a great opportunity to stay connected, hear directly from our members, and see the work happening in the field. Thank you for Fortis, Project Cosmo and our members for taking the time to meet with us and share their experiences.

At our 28th Annual Scholarship Awards, we had the opportunity to hear directly from our members and their children and grandchildren about what this support means to their families and the exciting paths our recipients are pursuing.
From different schools and programs to different career aspirations, each story reflects the hard work, ambition and potential of the next generation.
Congratulations once again to all 116 recipients. We're proud to support you as you take this next step, and we can't wait to see where your journey takes you! 👏🎓

🚨 ALBERTA REFERENDUM RESULTS
Alberta votes to REMAIN in Canada.
Roughly 76% chose to stay.
About 24% backed starting the legal process toward a binding separation vote.
In Edmonton, the stay side hit nearly 85%.
Turnout was MASSIVE.
Over 3.1 million eligible voters, more than 500,000 mail in ballots, and record early voting.
Early counts are still coming in, so these are the leading results, not final:
On immigration and elections, Albertans are voting YES:
More provincial control over immigration?
YES
Limiting taxpayer-funded services to citizens, PRs and approved status?
YES
A 12 month residency requirement before accessing social supports?
YES
A fee for non-permanent residents using healthcare and education?
YES
Proof of citizenship to vote in provincial elections?
YES
Starting the legal process toward separation?
NO
Abolishing the Senate?
NO
Provincial laws overriding federal laws in shared areas?
NO
Provinces appointing their own judges?
NO
Letting provinces opt out of federal programs while keeping the funding?
NO
Read that split carefully.
ALBERTANS ARE NOT SEPARATISTS BUT THEY ARE DONE WITH OPEN & IRRESPONSIBLE IMMIGRATION.
And they are DONE with a federal government that takes them for granted.
