Here are my endorsements for School Board. A board that will be independent of the Mayor and the CTU! #Vote #HistoricElection

Big thank you to Anthony Hargrove, who is running for School Board in District 5B (including the West Loop!), for making it out to the 34th Ward Halloween Party this morning!
I’ve endorsed Anthony and encourage those in his district to vote for him.

I’ve been a Democrat for 34 years. But I was a Jew and a Zionist before I was a Democrat. I believe in affordable healthcare, housing and helping working families. None of that requires me to excuse antisemitism. We should demand all of it from our candidates.

Logan Square, a neighborhood of 70k people led by Ald. Quezada, is more unaffordable than ever because he only wants to build ‘affordable housing’
Yet since 2022 has only built 47 units total. Building housing doesn’t cause gentrification, it prevents it

Obama tonight on his Cheesecake Factory line: "They mobilized a whole of government response to that joke. Not to inflation, but to that joke. The White House even called the Secretary of the Treasury. This is the man who is in charge of the economy. The person who's supposed to be figuring out how to make your life more affordable. The guy who's supposed to be figuring out how to lower inflation. And reduce interest rates. They told him he should hold a press conference in front of the Cheesecake Factory."

Exciting news for Michigan Avenue!
In ‘24, @SenatorSara6 and I worked w/ @TheMagMile, @ChiLoopAlliance, @chicagochamber & @BOMAChicago to pass legislation allowing IL communities to create Biz Improvement Dists. (BIDs).
As the Mag Mile moves toward establishing Chicago’s first BID, the promise of long-term investments in safety, beautification and economic development are already helping build the confidence businesses need to invest.
Proud to have helped lay that groundwork!

Defaming victims and survivors and refusing to take accountability is a pattern for Hilario and his aligned folks.
The real question Chicagoans should be asking is: why did the CPS OIG investigation, which was open for 5 years, close only weeks after Hilario became a candidate?

In today’s episode of “I’m a Gen Z candidate trying to appeal to a voter base whose median member is 10 years my senior”... I present... this...
It’s okay, I’m not being held hostage by my campaign staff...

An educator running for school board responds.
My kids' experience w youtube shorts in class is:
1) All teachers have the tech that lets them see all kids' chromebook screens at once
2) Some don't allow youtube at all. Some allow it after homework is done. Some just allow it.

Chicago can’t simply cut, borrow or tax our way out of a structural budget deficit.
It’s a 3-legged stool:
1) fiscal discipline
2) responsible revenue decisions
3) economic growth
That means more housing working families can afford & good-paying jobs in every neighborhood.

"Our Schools PAC" is a name that reflects how @CTULocal1 thinks. Not parents' schools. Not students' schools. Not principals' schools. The union's schools.

Text from a staffer for Our Schools PAC last week about the report on Hilario Dominguez:
“It’s impossible to know for sure what actually happened, and it’s not uncommon for investigators to fail to address the harm experienced by survivors.”
Our Schools PAC is funded by the Chicago Teachers Union.
In contrast, the Dominguez campaign alleges the report “clears Hilario in full.”
NEW: 5 takeaways from the new inspector general report on allegations against Hilario Dominguez, the Chicago Teachers union political operative turned candidate for school board president.
1. The report says the alleged victim’s account is believable, realistic and not outlandish.
2. It says Dominguez’s alleged conduct “would not be acceptable behavior for a CPS staff member” and would violate today’s Boundary Standards.
3. The Dominguez campaign is misrepresenting what the report says.
4. At least one of his major backers recognizes the report is not definitive.
5. The dynamics of this case still warrant independent investigation.
