This is huge! I just saw a demo of an app to vibe design robot clothing. It simulates cloth physics, contact points, thermodynamics, and applies different gaits to different humanoid robots 🤯 Is robot fashion coming?

Weekend hack: HackerTube. I was annoyed with YouTube's recommendations so I had Claude filter down 43M comments over 20 years of HN to 6,454 videos that keep being recommended. *Significantly* better viewing experience, ~2 hours with Opus 5.5: hackertube.org/ - Excellent recs without any logins (state is kept in local browser session) - Thumbnail is a representative frame from middle of the video instead of the super duper A/B test hyper-optimized user uploads - Underlying data from the comment analysis as one zip file, point your Claude at it and ask for your own version - HackerTube Longs ✊ A bit more on the process: I use Claude Code (desktop app for Mac), Opus 5.5 on Medium effort as my default. I only talk to Claude and have it do everything, the only "manual work" I helped with in tandem was in the browser (reminiscent of MenuGen): 1) I had to create some kind of API key from Google Cloud UI to query YouTube for video metadata, 2) I booted up a VPS box for serving and 3) I bought the domain name. Once the box was up I gave Claude the IP and told it update, secure, harden, deploy and optimize the code, and it did the whole thing. Many awesome projects that would have normally taken weeks/months even can now be few-shotted for breakfast. What else are we not thinking of.

This is huge for robotics. The first ROS meetup in New York City is happening this week! 🗽 Word on the street is that NYC is seeing the birth of various robotics startups, based in Manhattan and Brooklyn Navy Yard. See you guys there!

I trained this G1 on an H100 and made the video on the same server. No RTX GPU needed. Put together a guide for training with Isaac Lab on H100, recording rollouts, and watching the results 🧵 kyry.me/isaaclab-h100/

Getting ready for Saturday’s “Teach a Robot Your Dance” workshop! We're teaching humanoid robots to dance using videos. Our robot saw the moves we picked and decided to play dead instead

DAY 1: Humanoid Robot Fashion Challenge It’s the first time I’m seeing fashion designers, robotics people and HRI researchers come together to think about designing for new bodies.
Just learned there’s a Robot Fashion challenge happening this week at Kent State’s Fashion School. Apparently design students from CMU, UMich, FIT and around the US are flying in to design fashion garments for humanoid robots. This is wild. I’m flying in to witness this!

Smart enough to pass OpenAI’s job interviews Not smart enough to realize whatever you installed at the office and prompted can be traced back to you Imagine throwing your career away over this
We discovered a sophisticated recording device that was hidden inside one of our offices. We used our models to understand the device and where it had come from, identifying that a specific employee had planted it a few days earlier. We referred the matter to the FBI, and we’re grateful to the agents and prosecutors who moved quickly to make an arrest. The FBI’s investigation is ongoing and we will continue to support their work. At this time, we have no indications of this individual inappropriately accessing or exfiltrating model weights, source code, or customer data. The employee was terminated. We take protecting our technology, data, and people seriously, and as a matter of national importance. Our security program is designed to protect against a wide range of threat actors, from insider risks to cybercriminals to nation states, and this case is an example of how AI can help address these sophisticated security threats.

Apple HomeView is actually a great device for some niche use cases. For example, a ballistic threat dashboard on your desk.
