Still kind of insane to me they just let Jimmy Fallon and Drew Berrymore on the field to shoot Fever Pitch during the on-field celebrations
“Back to Foulke, Red Sox fans have longed to hear it, the Boston Red Sox are World Champions.” 22 years ago tonight, the Curse of the Bambino was finally broken with a sweep of the Cardinals in the 2004 World Series.

This is how Dr. Seuss probably talk smack. “It’s no sausage, but it might be a little green eggs and ham, you know what I mean? Jaylen I am”
Jaylen Brown on Jayson Tatum: “It’s no beef, but it might be little lamb chops and some gravy, you know what I mean? “He should stay ready at all times.”

The NFL needs to rethink how suspensions are handled. Don’t announce until after an appeal hearing. People jumped to conclusions and assumed Franklin was guilty.
Statement from Bills DB Sam Franklin Jr.’s agents, Harold C. Lewis and Christian Addison, after appeals officer James Thrash reduced Franklin’s one-game suspension to a $14,926 fine for unsportsmanlike conduct: “As we said from the start, Sam did not and would never spit at an opponent, and there was no evidence that he did. We're glad the suspension was overturned and grateful to the hearing officer for a fair and thorough review. It's unfortunate the league suspended Sam in the first place based on an unsupported accusation that received so much undeserved attention, and we hope the outcome is covered just as widely. We also hope the league takes a serious look at the opposing player's conduct, including striking Sam in the groin twice during the game. We're glad this is behind him, so Sam can get back to focusing on his teammates and next Sunday.”

For about 48 hours Sam Franklin was not only accused, but judged to be a guy who spit at an opponent, even though he didn’t. And because of that, his name will always be linked to doing that, and many won’t see (or care) that he didn’t. That sucks.

Not enough people recognizing how INSANE it is that for 40 years, the NFL was just like, "Yeah, if you get hurt at any point during a tackle football season, you're done. Can't come back. See you next year." nbcsportsboston.com/nfl/new-…

A Boston cop stops an active knife attack and saves lives, yet it takes a year and a half to clear him. If that isn't a broken system, what is?
Wu sounds upset that a violent guy with a big knife about to stab people got killed by a cop.

Entire #BillsMafia is crapping on the Bills D, I get it & everyone knows i’m normally the realistic negative guy. BUT We are 5-1 through a very hard part of the schedule. Won multiple games that I believe we lose in previous years, are relatively healthy for the long run & have a D that while is giving up an insane amount of receiving yards is doing what WINS IN THE PLAYOFFS: stopping the run & getting to the QB. If this exact D was our D in the playoffs over the last 6 years, we make at least 1 Super Bowl & I wholeheartedly believe that. They have 3 months to continue to learn this system on the backend. The hardest part on D (getting to the QB) is in place & we have Josh FKN Allen! #BillsMafia #GoBills

Rams lose their LT for two games because of the same immaturity and violent temper that has led to multiple off field incidents. One area they struggle with is depth at tackle we will see how they manage Stafford‘s blindside
Just in: #Rams LT Alaric Jackson has been suspended 2 games for punching Bradley Chubb after their game on Monday night. LA won’t have Jackson in Week 6 vs. Arizona and Week 7 vs Las Vegas.

To honor tonight's Hollywood matchup, I spent the last couple weeks talking to writers, directors and producers who've worked with Josh Allen on his many, many TV commercials. Here are some tales from set, and the stories of why he's so sought after. espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/5013…

15 years ago today, October 12, 2011, after the Red Sox blew a 9-game Wild Card lead and missed the playoffs, owner John Henry walked into Felger & Mazz unannounced to confront his critics on live radio. On the same day, The Boston Globe's notorious front page hit piece on Terry Francona, widely seen by most as part of a campaign to scapegoat the manager for ownership's failures. Two years later, Henry bought the Globe, adding region's biggest newspaper to a media empire that already included team’s propaganda outlet NESN and ties to WEEI, giving him a powerful shield from scrutiny.

One year ago today, an insider was doing an inside thing..…
AJ Brown available for trade? Per: @DMRussini “A GM in the AFC said, “I think Howie (Roseman) moves him. It would have to be for the right player or pick, but (a trade) wouldn’t surprise me. Howie likes deals, especially if a player’s value overrides how Brown is being used.” 👀🔥
