I've previously used self-hypnosis to regulate migraines. It's a lost skill now. I'd recommend some level of caution because doing so can slip into just dissocating the pain away which can lead to negative outcomes, but yeah it was a pretty good skill to have

But it's a fundamental error to think that because the former happens, the latter happens. In cases where the latter happens, it leaves out all the extreme circumstances that are required Point being, people don't falsely recall traumatic experiences for trivial reasons.

This Error of Degrees is part of the FMSF Narrative. It draws a connection between phenomena everyone is familiar with (one's own memory being imperfect, or thinking you did something when you didn't) and something much more severe (intense recall of a traumatic experience).

Yes. You should be very careful for several weeks even after infection to avoid Long Covid

Great work as always! Adding a personal CW for parts language because that meant I had to reframe stuff so that it didn't address my headmates

FWIW, we've told our therapist and she's always been good about our plurality. Not telling a therapist wouldn't be an option for us, because how else do we even do therapy? If a therapist pulls shite as described, we'd just end the therapy.

Can't say why other folks self-describe like that, but it makes sense to us - our system includes a trans man who self-describes as us because our body is transitioned to female, so "amab trans man" would apply to him (though we don't use amab/afab descriptors)

That begs the question whether there are any topics today that are in a comparable place to those topics back then, and could thus be allegorized Or whether we just live in different times (e.g. cause people have more of a voice), and thus any such allegory would fall flat

馃挏also in case it's unclear (it's late and I feel like I am rambling a bit) - I'm not saying the main characters being trans is a bad thing it's about that being the sole source of Hurt, vs. some of the Hurt also coming from the Affini (cause they're doing dubcon)
26
馃挏 I thought of contrast with stories where the character comes pre-broken due to being a trans woman without access to HRT or such OG HDG doesnt approach it like that - she's trans (I misremembered) but you don't get the impression that she'd not have managed without the Affini

馃挏fair enough! I did try to remember whether she was trans or not, and didn't come up with anything - meaning I forgot that part I'm mostly talking about how it is less prominently a source of pre-existing Hurt, so that tracks?

Warframe Mars is a frozen planet due to overdone terraforming, with only warm spots where the old terraforming tech is maintained still sporting a tundra-like biosphere

If you're not interested in doing that, or something else to demonstrate that your idea could work, maybe you should not be advocating for it or expect it to be convincing to people.

Your test needs to be "could a chemistry professional, today, with their own lab, feasibly supply themselves and their elderly grandparents, with medications (only ones that they can legally make)" That'd give you all the advantage of an existing supply chain

馃挏You'll note that in the OG HDG story, the main character isn't trans in many of the blander HDG stories, the MC isn't just trans, but has so much trauma to serve as a source of Hurt that no room for Tension with other characters is made

馃挏IMO well-written Dubcon can have a lot in common with Hurt/Comfort But just like there, the Hurt and thus tension can come from two places: - the characters hurt each other - or the hurt is external or pre-existing And some people just prefer the latter? IMO it's just boring

馃挏Yeah, that's pretty much why I keep checking out HDG stories. A lot of them aren't interesting, but then again that goes for most fandoms? But there's still some newer ones still that are more like the original story, fortunately.

To be clear this is not an argument in favor of keeping medication under patent, or against people making medications at home if they so choose But the notion that this could establish a reliable supply in lieu of factory production is absurd
