📊 $BTC HTF Case Study & Analysis I’m approaching BTC through three scenarios: a corrective continuation, a bullish re-accumulation, and a deeper bearish markdown. Here’s how I’m positioning myself for each. 📉 Base Case: Corrective Distribution We remain in a corrective price distribution. Value is gradually migrating lower, with local ranges shifting downwards. From an Auction Market Theory perspective, this suggests that the market is increasingly accepting lower prices. That said, we have to acknowledge the underlying bullish strength. Despite the distribution, we haven’t seen an immediate, impulsive markdown following the range. My positioning: • Swing short opened in the upper regions. • Small hedge longs built continuously to capture local opportunities and protect against upside continuation. I’m currently holding a hedge long that has already offered additional profit opportunities and has been secured to break-even. The Target -> $77.2K This is a key area where I expect the market could react, potentially initiating another accumulation phase before the next leg higher. 📈 Bull Case: Re-accumulation The bullish scenario starts right here, within the current range. What I need to see is an impulsive markup to the upside. This would suggest that the current range is a prolonged re-accumulation rather than distribution. My hedge long provides exposure to this scenario. However, I currently assign it a lower probability than my base case, which is why I’m only hedged with one position. 📉 Bear Case: Deeper Markdown This scenario initially follows the base case, but with one crucial difference: BTC leaves the current range through a clear markdown. In that event, I would expect the $77.2K nPOC to potentially fail as support, opening the door for further downside and a redistribution of value at lower levels. A revisit to sub-$70K would then become a possibility, particularly if price moves to fill the inefficiencies below. My existing swing short provides exposure to this scenario. ⚖️ Conclusion: Probabilities Over Predictions I’ve structured my positioning to account for all three scenarios. I don’t need to know with certainty which direction BTC will take. I need to understand the possible outcomes, assess their probabilities, and position accordingly. As a quantitative trader, my focus is on Expected Value, risk management, and extracting value from the market over a large sample of trades. To the perma-bulls and perma-bears fighting it out on X: have fun. I’ll stick to the probabilities. 📊
📊 $BTC Auction Overview Contrary to much of the current sentiment, I’m remaining cautious and not expecting an immediate continuation to the upside. I’ve publicly built a swing short position at range Highs, and I want to explain the thesis behind it; including what would invalidate it. 📈 Higher Timeframe Structure Looking at BTC’s HTF auction structure, we can identify that the broader uptrend remains intact. I don’t expect this trend to disappear anytime soon. The move originated from the prior accumulation range around $57K–$67K. Since then, BTC has broken out impulsively and continued accepting higher value. My base case is now a corrective move to the downside following this impulsive rally. I’m not calling for new lows, nor am I turning into a perma-bear. But objectively assessing the current picture, a correction is a plausible scenario. This means we have to consider whether the current range is developing into a distribution zone, where value is being redistributed as sellers offload some of their gains. 🔍 Local Confirmation We’re already seeing the first signs supporting this thesis: -> Value is increasingly accepting lower. -> Volume distribution is continuously skewed to the downside across both local ranges. This doesn't guarantee further downside, but it provides a basis for my current positioning. ⚖️ Positioning & Risk Management There is an important reason behind this trade: I’m a BTC spot investor who accumulated around the $60K region. With substantial spot exposure, hedging is a necessary part of managing my overall portfolio risk. I don’t need to be bearish on BTC long term to hedge against a potential correction. So before the keyboard warriors arrive: hedging spot exposure is a deliberate risk-management decision, not a contradiction of my bullish HTF thesis. 🚨 Invalidation If BTC impulsively breaks above the current range, I’ll reassess the short thesis. Such a move could indicate that this range was actually a re-accumulation event rather than distribution. I’m also taking local long positions within the ranges to hedge against that possibility. Meanwhile, my swing short has already secured profits, with the stop moved to break-even. I’m currently risk-free on the remaining position, leaving me in a favourable position regardless of how the next move develops. The goal isn't to predict every move correctly. It's to manage exposure, follow the auction, and adapt when the market invalidates the thesis.

$BTC 📊 Still chopping within its LTF Range. Not really surprising behaviour given FOMC tomorrow. The flows here are still showing signs of strength for now, especially with Spot CVD actively increasing. Still holding my scalped Long from yesterday but taken out some risk at VAH. Larger Swing Long positioning will become sensible upon a stronger structural construct.

The guru culture is getting out of hand... firstly they destroy the image of trading in general and now they are even coming for orderflow... so annyoing to see since it hurts the whole industry image and the ones which actually do this for real. I truly miss the times when trading was not as mainstream as it is today.

📊 $BTC Order Flow Update BTC continues to trade around its local range VAL. Price action is compressing and volume is declining, setting the stage for a potential impulsive move once this compression resolves. 🔎 Order Flow & Positioning The underlying flow is showing bullish signals. We’re seeing a significant divergence between Spot CVD and Perps CVD: spot buying is increasing while perpetual traders continue to sell aggressively. This suggests that perp sellers are attempting to force a downside breakout while aggressive spot buyers are accumulating BTC. On top of that, the order book remains heavily stacked with bids below current price, potentially providing a supportive base. 📍 My Plan Given these conditions, I’ve started scaling into hedge-long exposure against my broader swing short. I’m keeping the risk relatively small for now, as we’re still structurally in LTF no-man’s-land without a clear directional setup. The primary purpose of this long is to protect my overall short exposure against a potential impulsive move to the upside; particularly a breakout that runs without offering a retest. I’m positioning for the possibility, not betting on the outcome.

Quick Word on "Trading Psychology" being shared recently on CT Every few months, there seems to be a wave of posts from large accounts sharing their "ever so difficult journey" and all the lessons they learned along the way. I’m not saying the advice contained is wrong, but I do think a lot of these stories get exaggerated. When humans talk about our achievements publicly, our ego naturally wants the journey to sound as difficult and dramatic as possible. Most are seeking the credibility for it (though no anyone will admit that...) Take the advice for what it is, but don’t give it too much weight. Everyone follows their own path. What worked for someone else might not work for you. Your starting capital, when you entered the market, where you live, your education; there are almost infinitely many factors that make your journey unique. Even if it seems like you and a particular creator had the exact same circumstances on the surface: You most likely didn't and there are many uncovered variables which are simply not reconstrubtable. When I was starting out, I got consumed by these posts. What helped me was simply getting off X for a week or two. When I returned, I felt fresher and more focused than ever. Cutting out the noise is a game changer. You are writing your own story. Work hard, do what needs to be done, and stop comparing your journey to everyone else's. Don't get consumed by the noise.

GM ☕️ $BTC is still fighting to reclaim the VAL of the current range. I'm continuing to look for my next potential long, with order flow determining whether and where I enter. 🎯 Plan There are two main Scenarios I'm watching today: 1. Local change of structure + range reclaim A clear local change of structure, followed by a reclaim into the current range, would give me the confidence to start scaling into a long on subsequent retracements. 2. 77.2k nPOC This would mark a potential completion of my base-case scenario. The reaction to this nPOC will be decisive in determining whether a long setup becomes attractive. In both scenarios, confirmation is essential. These are areas of interest, not automatic entries. 📊 Market Outlook We can likely expect increased volatility this week, with several macro events on the calendar. Today, at the NY Open, the team of analysts at The Quant Library Discord and I will be hosting a free live session, monitoring BTC from both an order flow and structural perspective. We'll assess how the market develops in real time and what opportunities emerge. See you at the NY Open! 🤝

$BTC Sunday Plan 📌 BTC is starting Sunday once again below the mini-range VAL. So far, the recovery structure remains intact. However, the warning signs we identified yesterday are still present. 📊 Order Flow The most notable signal is the bearish divergence between Spot CVD and Perp CVD. This suggests that the current recovery has been driven primarily by aggressive buyers in the perpetual market, while spot participation has been largely absent. That raises questions about the sustainability of this move. 💼 Positioning & Plan We are certainly trading in regions where I would like to look for long opportunities. However, location alone is not enough. As long as order flow continues to show these bearish signals, I won't reopen a long position just because price has reached an attractive area. For now, I'll remain patient and continue holding my swing and scalp shorts opened at higher levels. I want to see genuine spot demand and a meaningful improvement in order flow before considering new longs. Wishing everyone a good Sunday! 🤝

$BTC is being aggressively shorted into local support. So far price is not showing meaningful results following this effort. However, they do seem to commit just enough in order to not be trapped. If we sustainably overcome the daily VWAP & dPOC, we can likely expect rapid further upside following the closure of those positions.
GM ☕️ $BTC Saturday Outlook Price has now reached the lower boundaries of the current mini range. 📊 Order Flow Sellers are showing intent and, so far, are being rewarded for it. However, my plan remains clear: I will not turn bearish directly into potential support. I have been bearish from 84.5k, where I opened my intraweekly short, all the way down to current levels. With price now reaching the lower range boundaries, I have realised a good portion of the profits from that position. This is given, my larger swing short also remains open, with targets around 77k. 💼 Positioning From an intraweekly perspective, I have to acknowledge that we are now trading in a supportive region. This is where aggressive selling can easily end up trapped; provided buyers step in and show initiative. If buyers manage to regain control and push price higher, I'll be willing to open a long to capitalise on another potential range deviation. However, I need to see actual buying strength before committing to that scenario. 🎯 Plan For now, my approach remains unchanged: Treat it like a range until clearly proven otherwise. I'll respect the bearish momentum, but I won't chase shorts into support. Instead, I'll wait for confirmation and let the next move come to me.

$BTC No Point in trading the current intraday chop. This is just a fair value acceptance around the local range POC. No Edge on any timeframe for me here. Waiting until clearer structure returns 🫡

$BTC Order Flow Update 📊 Following yesterday’s sharp sell-off, BTC is starting the day with a modest recovery to the upside, initially testing the nPOC. Looking closer at the move, however, the recovery appears largely corrective, with little evidence of strong directional conviction behind it. 🔎 Order Flow Spot Delta is recovering only marginally compared to yesterday’s aggressive selling, suggesting that genuine demand remains limited at current prices. Meanwhile, we’ve seen a few aggressive longs gradually pushing price higher, alongside some late shorts closing their positions. For now, I’m not seeing enough evidence to interpret this recovery as a meaningful shift in market structure. 📍 My Plan Structurally, we’re still in an area where I’m not interested in forcing a trade. I’ve already secured decent profits from my existing short position while keeping a portion open to maintain exposure to the broader move. For now, I’ll remain patient and see what today’s session brings. Let the market prove its intentions before committing to a direction.

GM ☕️ $BTC is starting the day with a value rotation lower following a distributive failed auction above the key range boundaries. With that, we have now lost both mVWAP and wVWAP, putting the short-term structure back into bearish territory. 📊 Order Flow The sell-off was primarily driven by long positions closing during the Asia session. As I mentioned in my previous post: "If clear market structure develops again and volatility begins to contract, I'll consider another short setup using a more conservative entry framework." Once I was able to identify the developing distribution range, I entered accordingly. 💼 Positioning I happened to be well-positioned for this move, waking up to a position offering a 1:8 R/R. For full transparency, I only entered with 0.5R of risk, which reduced the overall profit potential in absolute terms. Nevertheless, the position remains open. I've already taken first profits, and my next target is the local rVAL, where we could see another potential range deviation setup. For now, I'll continue managing the position according to plan and let the market determine the next move.

$BTC NY Update 📊 BTC is showing considerable strength heading into the NY open. Initially, price rotated back towards the daily VWAP, where buyers stepped in once again and managed to regain control. Since then, bullish momentum has continued to build. 🔎 Positioning & Execution Honestly, this is not the environment in which I want to scalp shorts. Trying to catch the exact top against this kind of strength is more like gambling than executing a clearly defined setup. Without a clear structure to work against, the entry becomes too ambiguous. I've realised another 10% of profits from my existing long position to secure some gains. Sometimes, reducing exposure is simply the better decision than forcing a hedge short against strong bullish momentum. 📍 My Plan If clear market structure develops again and volatility begins to contract, I'll consider another short setup using a more conservative entry framework. Until then, I'm not interested in fighting the current momentum. Protect your profits. Don't force a trade just because you're looking for one.

GM ☕️ $BTC continues to show underlying buying pressure as we head into Wednesday. Price is now making a second attempt at the nPOC resistance, which sits in confluence with the monthly VWAP. With order books still relatively thin, this resistance could prove weaker than expected. 📊 Order Flow Buyers are continuing to apply pressure [SpotCVD], and I won't blindly fade these strength attempts without clear confirmation. The key is to identify whether buyers can sustain the move or whether meaningful absorption starts to emerge at resistance. 🎯 Plan My main POI remains 84k, as this is the first level where we see genuine ask resistance. Until price reaches this area, I won't be looking to short strength blindly. Instead, I'll remain patient and wait for clear signs of meaningful absorption in the order flow before considering a short.
