What exceptional civilization-shaping ideas does Hickman have that would meet the exceptionally high bar of being remembered in 200 years? His central thesis, that he has spent years on this website and his Substack advocating for, is that Americans should move out of large metropolitan areas and move to abandoned, struggling, rural towns to buy dilapidated falling apart houses for $30,000. He told us that young families moving to these areas would revive the areas, that there would be "rural renewal"
In twenty years nobody will know who CuriousBunnie12 is. It is highly plausible that my husband's name will be remembered in even two hundred years. Like it or not, he's shaping civilization.

If anything, the election shows why you may want to wait before you start any wars. Not one of our strong suits, but you'd think we'd have that down by now after the last few wars.

Why can't we all just enjoy the current season? What's wrong with November? It's cozy, slow, and lovely. Every season has its own joys. Everyone just needs to slow down and chill a little Except summer We should actually hate summer more

Remember, Halloween isn’t about candy or costumes or decorations! The true meaning of Halloween is rural chuds bullying effete school teachers.

If you don't ponder over your kitchen and meal plan, you are a lazy spendthrift addicted to Midwest mom slop. If you do ponder over your kitchen and meal plan, you are a neurotic hag with luxury tastes who hasn't trained her children in gratitude. Twitter, man.

Sure the cold sucks, but it's hard to capture just how breath taking it is to have things gently floating from the sky. Falling leaves and snow are just insanely romantic. What a joy to live in this world. Easily worth the cold.

I’m so pleased to see the TL in agreement about how tacky and off-putting gore Halloween decorations are. You need to be nostalgic jack-o-lantern maxxing.

This is starting to get under my skin lol. Maybe I am too literal about it idk. There are people in this country whose ancestors have been here since the very beginning. That exists. It’s not made up. They are foundational. It is okay to differentiate them from people who immigrated later. It’s just acknowledging reality. Now the manner in which people use that term is not the same as those people actually existing. There is such a thing as a heritage American. Idk why that is wrong or bad to point out. Everyone else is allowed to take pride in their history.
The day my husband, a legal immigrant, become an American was a proud day for our family. There’s no such thing as a “heritage American.” Just Americans. We love America and will always fight to leave it better than we found it for our children and grandchildren.
