"Recently, senior executives at Salesforce have admitted, both internally and publicly, that they massively overestimated AI’s capabilities. They have found that AI simply can’t cope with the complex nature of customer service and totally fails at nuanced issues, escalations, and

The Wounded Knee Massacre was not a battle but the intentional killing of hundreds of Lakota Sioux by U.S. soldiers in 1890. About 350 primarily Lakota Sioux, majority of them unarmed women, children, and elderly people, were intercepted, while moving toward Pine Ridge, by 500 soldiers from the 7th Cavalry, equipped with rifles and four Hotchkiss rapid-fire cannons set up on a hill overlooking the encampment. The U.S. Army attempted to disarm the few warriors, (estimated 15–30 rifles, and most were older, poor-quality), who carried weapons. A scuffle broke out and reportedly a rifle went off during the confiscation. The soldiers opened fire with rifles and Hotchkiss machine guns positioned around the camp. Estimated 250–300 of the Lakota Sioux was killed, many of them women and children, and 25 U.S Army soldiers, many likely from crossfire. Once shooting began, it became a one-sided massacre rather than a fight, and it is also recognized rightly as a massacre, not a battle, because the Lakota were vastly outgunned, largely non-combatant, especially the women, children, and elders who made up most of the victims.

The American psyche is built on a distorted self-image, a mythologized version of reality that sees the United States as the eternal "good guy" in a world of villains. This cartoonish perception is not a product of innocence, but of a deep-seated psychological need to justify a violent, exploitative past and present. The United States began as a settler colony, built on the erasure of indigenous civilizations and the forced labor of African slaves. From its inception, it was a project of conquest and domination, dressed in the rhetoric of freedom and democracy. This foundational trauma—of theft and oppression—has led to a collective identity disorder. Americans have constructed a narrative where they are the moral center of the world, even as their actions in Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, and elsewhere reveal a pattern of aggression, hypocrisy, and indifference to human suffering. The American character is shaped by a settlers’ mentality: a belief in manifest destiny, the right to expand, to consume, to dominate. It is a culture that values wealth above all else, where individualism is a mask for narcissism, and patriotism is a tool for obedience. The decline of America is not a sudden collapse, but a slow unraveling of a civilization that has lost its moral compass. The American dream has become a nightmare for the many, as wealth inequality grows, democracy is hollowed out, and the media serves as a propaganda machine for the powerful. The American people, brainwashed by centuries of indoctrination, remain blind to their complicity in global injustice. This is not a normal society—it is a pathological one, built on lies, violence, and the denial of history. The fiction of American exceptionalism is a crutch for a people who refuse to confront the truth of their past or the consequences of their present. Until they do, the United States will continue its slow, inevitable decline. Dr Arshad Afzal, former faculty member, Umm Al Qura University, Makkah, KSA

I’m running for President in 2028. 🗳️ My first act will be an Executive Order reversing anything signed by Felon Donald Trump. …next will be term and age limits for Congress and Supreme Court. Expand the Supreme Court to at least 13. Make sure billionaires can no longer purchase elections from the people. Balance our budget for the first time since 1996. Eliminate price gouging of Americans. Study Universal Basic Income and its possible need as more jobs become automated over the coming decades. Deploy law enforcement and IRS to recoup all stimulus money and covid business loans from former members of Congress. Regulate crypto so Americans stop getting robbed by influencers and wealthy crooks. Ensure the survival of Social Security and Medicaid. Raise the federal minimum wage. Election reform, focused on rank-choice voting and more viable political parties. Ensure every United States Veteran has healthcare and a roof of some kind over their heads. Revamping our immigration system to make the process take six months instead of six years. Retraining Americans for jobs of the future and skilled trades so the system doesn’t have to support them. Work with Mexico to build a border wall that benefits us both. There is no reason we shouldn’t be building solar and other renewables at the border, which we’d split with Mexico 50/50 to pay for the wall and its maintenance longterm. Expand access to paid family leave, sick leave, and childcare. Oversight of AI platforms. Earmark federal funds to build homeless communities with night security. This will cut down on panhandling and tent cities popping up in unwanted areas while ensuring our unhoused population have a secure place to sleep and get water. Dedicate federal funds to addressing school shootings and figuring out security for our children and what that looks like. Work with the Transgender community to find a better solution that more people can live with. I’m tired of seeing these Americans treated as lesser than because they identify differently. I think education will be the key. Request federal funds dedicated to solar and other renewable resources, like Arizona for example, where installing solar panels on every building would store electricity for resident use and surplus sale. Request federal funds dedicated to a recycling program that would burn trash cleanly to produce power for Americans. Ensuring equal pay for women and others. Forgive predatory student loans. Lower costs of prescription drugs. Rejoin and uphold the Paris Climate Agreement. Strengthen protections for LGBTQ+ individuals. I will sue Ashli Babbitt’s family to recoup the exact dollar amount of taxpayer dollars they were awarded by Trump’s government. I will revoke every January 6th pardon and reinstate judge and jury rulings. And on the final hour of my first day, I will sign an executive order guaranteeing every transgender person that wants to serve in our armed forces is able to do so. I’m running for President because the oath I raised my hand to didn’t come with an expiration date. #Shead2028

Every paragraph of this WSJ story is more shocking than the last: "Agents didn’t need to develop target lists of immigrants suspected of being in the U.S. illegally, a longstanding practice, Miller said. Instead, he directed them to target Home Depot, where day laborers typically gather for hire, or 7-Eleven convenience stores. Miller bet that he and a handful of agents could go out on the streets of Washington, D.C., and arrest 30 people right away."
