I use this test. Feminists who support Hamas, musicians who support Hamas, writers who support Hamas, actors who support Hamas - all worthless, wicked trash.
Yesterday, @StephenESachs asked a good question: How do we act within a world where supporting or justifying Oct. 7 is no barrier to polite society? I have some answers: commentary.org/seth-mandel/o…

The new changes to drag forward income tax charges mean that many if not most people will be paying income tax on money they haven't earned yet.
Very few business have 1/12 of their profit available to distribute in April. Even if it's quarterly, how many businesses have 1/4 of their annual profit in the bank by the end of June?
If the Treasury knew anything about seasonality or billing cycles, they'd never have proposed this change.

The hidden tax measure in the Budget is huge for people paying tax under self-assessment - sole traders, partners, landlords, retired investors.
For 6th April 2028-29, you currently pay 50% of your income tax late in the tax year in question (in January 2029), 50% just after the year end (in July 2029) with any make-up payment in January 2030.
Under the new proposals you will pay your tax perhaps monthly or quarterly (TBC) from April 2029 onwards. A rough analysis suggests the impact is to draw about 50% of your tax bill forward, a huge cashflow boost to HMRC and a significant funding issue for the self-employed.
The Treasury recognises this, and expects to raise £1.3bn of additional tax in 29/30 as a result of this change.
The cashflow impact of the accelerated charge will send some businesses to the wall.

This is Nagasaki in 2026. Imagine if they spent the past 80 years wallowing in self-pity and blaming the US? It's incredible what you can accomplish when you decide to pick yourself up, move forward, and take responsibility for your own outcomes.

When the BBC reported on the horrific deaths of the Bibas family, they softened "murdered" to "died," claiming they couldn't say "killed" without independent forensic verification.
Yet when reporting on Gazans, the same outlet freely uses "killed" based solely on unverified family accounts and Hamas-run health ministry data.
Why is the BBC's evidentiary bar so high for Israeli victims, but nonexistent for others? Is it a collapse of basic editorial standards, or a blatant double standard?

One of the most revolting and dangerous people in public life. Worse than Corbyn, far more influential. Significant that she was fawned over and promoted by the Conservative Party and should be cause for major and serious introspection. It won't be.
The Spectator reports that the terrible Sayeeda Warsi is frontrunner for Labour’s "anti-Muslim hostility" tsar.
Sayeeda previously blamed Israel defending itself for Houthi terrorists attacking cargo ships.
She has attempted to downplay the link between race and religion in the Pakistani rape gangs. Even accusing others of whipping of "hate."
She supported the “coconut” slur being used against other ethnic minorities.
In 2006, she welcomed the election of Hamas.
We don’t need a tsar at all and certainly not one who is such a naive and toxic individual.

Sayeeda Warsi is frontrunner, I hear, for the government's controversial "anti-Muslim hostility" czar, to be announced this week. As I explain, she'd store up huge trouble for ministers. And few nominal Tories are more despised by actual Tories than Warsi. spectator.com/article/sayeed…

Andy Burnham has met Muslim community leaders in Downing Street and accused his political rivals of using “completely unacceptable language”.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Angela Rayner, the Communities Secretary who began work on the Islamophobia definition, now repackaged as “anti-Muslim hostility”.
Speaking to Muslim leaders around the Cabinet table, Mr Burnham said:
“We want to counter any form of hatred, discrimination, Islamophobia, wherever we find it, and work with you to bring forward an agenda that says that to the community.
“And I think perhaps the way the political debate is at times — Angela referenced some of the positions of opposition parties to us anyway — they are completely unacceptable.
“And some of the language that they use about the community is unacceptable.
“We just need to find ways with you to demonstrate that more and more.”
This is shameless: another example of Labour accusing those who legitimately criticise Islam, its history and its practices of racism. It is also another sign of Labour chasing voters who have deserted the party in recent years — and sacrificing free speech on the altar of electoral ambition.
Labour MPs have repeatedly branded opposition politicians who criticise Islam “Islamophobic”. Earlier this year, 26 Labour MPs reported Reform UK to the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) over its comments about Islam.
Labour MPs also reported Conservative Shadow Justice Secretary Nick Timothy to the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards and branded him “Islamophobic”. He even faced calls to resign from then Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer after criticising a mass Muslim prayer event in Trafalgar Square.
This is madness.
