My comments on the triumph of Arab science and their contribution to preserving Aristotle, Ptolemy, Euclid, Pythagoras, Archimedes, during the dark ages, until it transitioned 500 years later to Copernicus, Galileo, Tycho Brah, Kepler, Vesalius, da Vinci, Gilbert. Without the great centers of Arab science in Baghdad, Cordoba, Cairo, all would have been lost. There would be no SpaceX, Anthropic, Meta, or at least not for another 500 years. NEW: A two-time Jeopardy champion in North Carolina has been arrested again less than three months after a judge spared him prison time and put him on probation. Now a judge has denied his bond and locked him in the Wake County Jail. According to an arrest warrant obtained by WBTV, 44-year-old Philip Joseph "Joey" DeSena of Raleigh was arrested on Friday and charged with 10 felony counts of second-degree exploitation of a minor. Investigators allege the development engineer duplicated unlawful explicit images and videos involving minors between the ages of 7 and 15. The arrest comes less than a year after DeSena turned himself in on December 1, 2025, on two felony counts of secret peeping in Currituck County. In that earlier case, deputies said he hid cameras inside a bedroom and a bathroom at a rental house in Corolla "with the intent to capture the image of another without their consent." Instead of prison time, a judge allowed DeSena to plead guilty on July 27 to five years of probation, 100 hours of community service, and a mental health evaluation. Under that plea deal, the judge did not even require him to register as a sex offender. Just months earlier, DeSena won two straight nights on Jeopardy in November 2024 to take home $44,698 before returning for the Champions Wildcard semifinals in January 2025. "It was a literal dream come true," DeSena said at the time while praising the show's crew and his fellow contestants. When someone pleads guilty to hiding cameras in a bedroom and bathroom, should a judge ever be allowed to hand them probation without sex-offender registration?

So, Ukraine is coming to our aid if we are attacked? Do you really believe that?
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Ukraine did provide military support to the US following the 9/11 attacks, with over 5,000 troops serving in Iraq as the third-largest coalition contingent and contributions to Afghanistan operations. army.mil/article/15056/… nato.int/en/what-we-do/…

Juliet, could you make a ringtone for us out of the enhanced version? Thx much
A protester yelled "Shove that ballroom up your fat ass" to Trump at his rally in Mississippi on Monday night. This clip contains two versions of the moment. The first is how it aired on a livestream. In the second I increased the audio for that moment.

It was actually our 250th anniversary. Not that you would know — you spent it with the British.

I really think everyone needs to pay attention to this cordinated campaign to delegimatize Muslim Americans - not just as citizens but as humans. These increasingly hysterical attacks are a prelude to Republicans bringing us to a very, very dark place after the election.

Looks like Musk, Trump and Hegseth committed TREASON. They aided and abetted Putin‼️
SpaceX Blocked A U.S. And NATO Satellite to Assist a Russian Intercept After Crippling Ukraine's Air Defenses The Math Proves the Reality that Musk doesn't want you to see. On Oct 13-14, SpaceX restricted Starshield/Starlink during a 39-missile Russian attack, cutting Ukrainian drone intercepts by 23% and stranding U.S. personnel in Kyiv. Forty-eight hours later (Oct 15), SpaceX blocked U.S.-licensed NRO, Space Force, and NATO radar satellite ICEYE-X36 in orbit so Russia's COSMOS 2612 weapon could intercept it (99.89%-99.98% posterior) Our Model Demonstrates that the Russian intercept of the US/NATO ICEYE X-36 satellite (contemporaneous with the throttling of Starlink) would not have been possible, and almost certainly not been attempted, without SpaceX resources. At a material opportunity cost, Russia sprinted its COSMOS satellite to intercept ICEYE X36. Based on a previous attempt in June during which X36 maneuvered to evade COSMOS, Russia knew that this would be successful only if X36 could not maneuver. On October 15, SpaceX fixed X36 in place by issuing a collision alert for a sub-kilometer approach with its Starlink 35856 when SpaceX's own data shows that the actual distance was 4.8-5.0x as great. SpaceX issued no warning to COSMOS despite the fact that its sprint was far more threatening than the stable X36 orbit. SpaceX did not maneuver its Starlink 35856 satellite to clear the supposed collision risk. How, absent coordination with SpaceX, could Russia have known that SpaceX would take actions that (a) misrepresented the danger posed by X36, and (b) resulted in the fixing of X36 thereby enabling COSMOS's successful intercept? Thus, SpaceX was directly involved in simultaneously compromising Ukraine’s defensive and offensive capabilities. The conjunction of these two events makes innocent explanations untenable. The Pentagon Capture & Iran Round Two Trap: Pentagon CTO Emil Michael who cashed out $7M–$35M from Musk’s inner-circle SpaceX vehicles (M8/Gigafund 0.1 and M6/Valor M33 II) and KQ Partners / xAI (selling xAIfor $5M–$25M three days before taking over CDAO/OSCand 21 days before SpaceX bought xAI, while keeping M8, M6, M9, M10 & Nomadic open) and Pete Hegseth purged rival Anthropic in two hours, surrendered combat command over US drones used to attack Iran to Starlink’s "Terms of Service," and on October 2 named Musk Co-Director of Project Meridian to design the Pentagon's "Future of Warfighting" just as America enters Iran Round Twowith depleted Patriot/THAAD magazines and Russia feeding U.S. warship/aircraft locations to Tehran. SpaceX’s actions in Ukraine raise serious questions about its alignment with US security interests and its reliability as a cornerstone of US defense. These questions are particularly troubling given the effectively irreplaceable position SpaceX has been granted by the Hegseth/Emil Michael Pentagon. $SPCX $TSLA Our full quantitative analysis below w/ @streetwiseprof

My late colleague and brilliant co U.S. Science Envoy with me in the Obama Admin the @Caltech Nobel Laureate in Chemistry Ahmed Zewail would disagree. God rest his soul he didn’t have to endure this, and of course RFK Jr forgets that it was the Arab scientists of the Middle Ages who kept Aristotle, Hippocrates, Galen alive to hand it down in the Renaissance. My favorite books on this topic attached

For sure.
I feel like Jared Kushner being at the center of the plot that ultimately led to an American journalist being dismembered via bone saw while he was still alive should be a much bigger deal than our billionaire owned news media is making of it.
