51 years ago today, Morocco began its brutal military invasion of Western Sahara, in defiance of international law and the Saharawi people’s right to self-determination.
Five decades later, the occupation continues. Generations have been born in exile, families remain divided, and an entire people are still denied the freedom to decide their own future.
51 years of occupation have not broken the Saharawi people’s determination.
We have survived invasion, war, decades in refugee camps, exile and betrayal. We are still here, still resisting, and still demanding what is rightfully ours: freedom, dignity and independence.
Occupation does not become legitimate with time. And the passage of 51 years cannot extinguish a people’s rights.
Western Sahara is not Morocco. Decolonisation remains unfinished.
🇪🇭 51 years later, we have not surrendered. The struggle continues. We shall overcome.

The Cyrus the Great Day evening in London was a high point in our cooperation with the Iranian opposition.
It was moving to celebrate Cyrus Day together with the Iranian and Jewish communities in London, and to present the cooperation we are building between The Cyrus Fund, Project Aftab and the Abrahamic Movement. And it was just as moving to welcome delegations from the Somaliland and Pakistani communities, who came in solidarity as part of the founding of the Abrahamic Movement UK.
@VoiceofHorn, an organization of the Somaliland community, wrote afterwards that they took part "standing in solidarity, friendship, and remembrance with the Iranian people," and that the occasion was an opportunity to "reaffirm our shared commitment to dialogue, mutual understanding, and peaceful coexistence." They added: "May the enduring legacy of Cyrus the Great continue to inspire a world where freedom is respected, dignity is protected, justice prevails, and all peoples can live together in peace."

Great news coming out of #Hargeisa in #somaliland this evening with news of Israeli ambassador Michael Lotem set to lay the first foundations to the Embassy, this is symbolic between our two nations building stepping stones and paths to prosperity through the #abrahamaccords

In a historic day for bilateral relations, Ambassador Lotem is scheduled to present his diplomatic credentials to President Abdirahman Irro later today.
Following the credential ceremony, officials will host a groundbreaking ceremony to lay the foundation stone for the new Israeli Embassy in Hargeisa, cementing the newly established ties between the two nations. 🇮🇱

The Abrahamic Movement UK is getting underway. At a meeting in London attended by local leaders from the Jewish, Iranian, Somaliland and Kurdish communities, and Arab supporters of the Abraham Accords, we announced a new path: a local alternative in Britain to the extremist movements.
Our communities in Britain are suffering a complete loss of their security in the shadow of violence from extremist movements. It is not only the Jewish community that fears the rise of extremism: the Iranian opposition community, the Somaliland community, moderate Muslims, the Kurds and minorities such as the Druze and Alawites also suffer harassment and violence from incited extremists. So do Christians.
The founding of the Abrahamic Movement UK heralds a new dawn for the Abrahamic communities, a moderate alliance that will raise a new and unifying voice in Britain, an authentic voice from the Middle East that heralds Abrahamic peace and a shared vision in which there is room for everyone.
Just as important, it will create a community of communities, which will no longer feel so alone in the face of violent and extremist forces.
