El-Sayed: "When you nominate someone like RFK Jr who is anti-science to run HHS, what you get is a bunch of nasty crap lettuce in the state of Michigan. So my position is I'm gonna assume I'm not going to support you until proven otherwise. So the bar is going to be extremely high."

60% of Michigan Jews voted for Abdul El-Sayed. Stop speaking for Jews. Stop using us as an excuse for your bullshit. Stop conflating support for Israel as support for Jews

Why is an Israeli-American former IDF soldier backing Democrat El-Sayed in Michigan? Max Kresch tells the Haaretz Podcast why he believes U.S. politicians must hold Israel's far-right government accountable. 🎧Listen to the Haaretz podcast: haaretz.com/israel-news/podc…

If you think this is about “hurt feelings” sry you’re a child. Stevens has been making veiled threats (of, at minimum, un-endorsing) for weeks unless El Sayed denounced ALL his meaningful criticisms of israel. He refused. At some point AIPAC had to follow through on these threats
NEW The New York Times, which spoke to Haley Stevens, basically reports that this was all about hurt feelings. So many people today made this all about Stevens putting country over party. “On Sunday morning, Ms. Stevens woke up angry about being told not to come to church. She called Mr. Rogers and asked if they could attend church together, a gesture he immediately embraced, she later explained. She told none of her friends and allies in Democratic politics about her plans.” Full Story: nyti.ms/47UNnid

Abdul El-Sayed: “You see JD Vance now, he’s sprinting as hard backwards as he can from this terrible disastrous war in Iran. I’m like now’s not the time my guy, it would have been eight months ago you should’ve spoke up, but you never will because of course you are a coward who has decided that whatever Donald Trump says should go until of course Donald Trump is now a loser at the ballot box”

Not Free Press’ intrepid left punching beat reporter/stalker using AI to mock El-Sayed voters as rich elites. The editorial rigor we’ve come to expect from the new CBS/CNN media empire
this is why I love working at @VanityFair yesterday, I saw half our staff clustered around our fashion correspondent's desk poring over this photo. As José puts it, "The image has several discrepancies. The style and make of the Chanel Flap bag is inconsistent with others the brand has sold, and the Valentino shoes in question appear askew in proportion; their straps have several punched holes that the authentic Valentino style does not." AI image detectors confirmed that yes, Olivia Reingold used an AI-generated image to make her point, without a drop of disclosure. Wild!!!! vanityfair.com/story/midterm…

revisiting this piece that scadalized and made needlessly sectarian normal retail politics to note that El-Sayed did 11 points better with black voters than Arab/Middle Eastern voters, according to NBC News exit polls.

Congratulations Abdul El-Sayed. Congratulations to everyone celebrating victories across the United States. These are victories for communities standing up to billionaires & the media empires they own. Around the world, we've all got a lot of work to do. Let's go! ✊🏽

MAGA Republicans keep saying Abdul El-Sayed and Zohran Mamdani want to force their religion on us. Meanwhile, they’re trying to shove their Christian nationalist bullshit into every school, doctor’s office, and bedroom. Hypocritical fucks.

MSNOW: What is your message now to Jewish voters nationally and what you will do to protect them? Abdul El-Sayed: I’m committed to Jewish safety, and we are united against discrimination. The U.S. spends billions to carry out genocide and apartheid against Palestinians. The genocide in Gaza with our complicity is continuing right now. Nobody wants to talk about that.

Now that @AbdulElSayed has been elected to the U.S. Senate, let's flash back to 2007, when Bill Clinton praised Abdul El-Sayed for his University of Michigan speech. "I don't want to embarrass your senior speaker. But I wish every person in the world who believes that we are fated to have a clash of civilizations and cannot reach across the religious divides could've heard you speak today. I just wish every person in the world could've heard you speak today."

Again this is empirically false. The AP keeps writing that Dems are “divided” over El Sayed. They are not. He has 95% support among Dem voters—a higher % than Kathy Hochul, Roy Cooper, Sherrod Brown (and dozens of other candidates) and on par with Josh Shapiro and Mike Rogers.

I'd really really like to see the full video of this @jamesmatthewsky. What was the interaction before this response? Why don't we see that? Why is it just El-Sayed talking to you without context? In a previous clip posted a month ago, you approached El-Sayed getting into a car and ignored him when he said he wasn't giving an interview. He eventually relented and gave you a (great) response about Donald Trump shitting his pants in the Oval Office. So what did you ask him before he responded like this? Did he say he didn't want to take questions like last time? Did you put another question to him using insulting characterisations from Donald Trump?
Michigan's Democratic candidate for Senate Abdul El-Sayed confronted @jamesmatthewsky, telling him he wouldn't answer his questions as he wants "zero" votes in the UK. Watch the heated exchange between the two. Watch our live coverage of the US midterms➡️ trib.al/BikRSb2

El-Sayed derangement syndrome grew directly from Hasan Piker derangement syndrome. And both were more about media priorities and DC narrative jockeying than the election at hand The most loyal Democratic constituency embracing Trump’s GOP in this climate was always unlikely. But many, like Stevens, saw ‘Black voters’ as a prop for their own ideological wishcasting
Fox News is looking at predominantly Black areas of Michigan and showing Abdul outperforming Harris Bill Hemmer responds to Mark Penn saying Abdul would struggle with Black voters: "I don't see it really showing up"

800 “Democratic voters divided on El Sayed” stories + Stevens last min suicide mission and, per NBC, El-Sayed won 95% of Dems—2 pts higher than Rogers won republicans. Yet the latter did not have a single “divided Republicans” story. An all time completely made up media narrative

I am going insane. is the new thing now to act like you just suffered severe head trauma and/or were manifested yesterday? The “think pieces” were by and large ATTACKING El-Sayed for being insufficiently zionist. Does Charlotte think the attention was all glossy GQ spreads?
We probably all need to do some soul-searching about why there were 1 million daily think pieces about Abdul El-Sayed defending an already-blue seat and basically zero coverage of Adam Hamilton who just flipped a KS Sen seat for the first time in 94 years in an unthinkable upset

This interview is from June 26, 2026 so I hope @AOC recognizes the public backlash to Hakeem Jeffries as Speaker of the House and she’s not so out of touch that she would choose for her political ambitions to die on this hill. Time to walk this back.
AOC said she's backing Jeffries for Speaker.
