I often found more value in the cot than the answer. It's part of the reason why I started working on a particular tool I've begun calling Clew. What does it look like to go from an insight/question, to the answer? That "trace of thought" is undervalued in society.
The end of detailed summarized thinking traces for Claude and ChatGPT (likely both anti-distillation & for UX) has made being a human in the loop challenging. It pushes us towards automation, rather than augmentation, as it has become much harder to weigh in on in-process AI work

I was wrong. It feels great to cut some people out of my life. What a fucking relief. 😮‍💨

Thanks again to the partners, friends, and acquaintances who so gracefully show me what's in my shadow, just by being themselves. It makes the work that much easier. Bless you all. 🙏🏼

I like the idea behind “coherence,” but I don’t like the word much. To me, the idea is about letting things flow in a stable and propagating way. It makes me think of a swing or a spring and how applying force in a way that aligns with the resonant frequency of the moving parts. I feel that same way about the flow of life. The “answer” isn’t all force or all surrender, or even some fixed amount or force strategy. The “answer,” if there is one, is to train oneself on the natural resonance frequencies of the systems in which we’re embedded, and apply forces that match those frequencies. It raises the question, “what makes this hard?” Well, I think there are resonant frequencies within us, too, and when those get out of whack, they can take a long time to stabilize. That reminds me of parametric resonance, a separate idea illustrated by a pendulum with a spring on it. These things seem to have a mind of their own, oscillating between bouncing and swinging with a subtle rhythm. Isn’t that like us, too? Couple a system like that with an arhythmic outside force, and surely the behavior is going to appear strange and inconsistent. Imagine coupling two of these systems together! The behavior would be functionally unpredictable! I guess my toxic trait is imagining that we could model people as pendulums and springs. At least, this view of human complexity helps me hold my own oscillations with more grace. 😅 youtube.com/watch?v=5JbpcsH8… youtube.com/watch?v=MUJmKl7Q…

She groomed and raped a 14 year old kid she met as his therapist in a juvenile detention center, and continued to bang him until he was 17. We talk about the 50-100 teachers who make the news each year. But there are 1000’s of women in other professions or who just happen to live in the neighborhood raping teens too. And no one will ever know about them.

So… life is chemical, and positive vibes, consciousness and concentration are all blessings Easy to take it all for granted if you don’t pay attention
Wheeee~~ Creating the self and the narrative that it stands on...it'd be so comfy and stable if it weren't for these pesky waves! 🌊🌊🏄🏼‍♂️🌊

don’t lose anything of value when valuing your true life experience~ it’s all you really “have”. You lose everything allowing society in whatever form to convince you otherwise.

Much of my intent to recording my stream of consciousness on such a regular basis (besides that all great writers tend to lol) also came from how sick I am of the performance act to conform to the hierarchy that truly only centers sales, sex, & money power. That to expose my

There's your life. There's your partner's life. And then there's a third thing—this separate entity called your relationship. And that third thing? It can thrive even when the individuals inside it are struggling. I think about this when women message me saying, "I wish I had a @jonwu_ in my life." They see someone supportive, someone who gets on stage and hypes me up, someone who shows up for my ideas with his whole chest. That's real. But here's what you don't see: we're both incredibly imperfect people. We met when we were both living in apartments that could charitably be called "character-building." Jon's East Williamsburg place was a sunless cave with mold in the walls. We weren't two polished people who found each other at the top of our games. We were two messy humans who decided to build something together anyway. When Jon was miserable at his job, I didn't start looking for the exit. But I also didn't try to control his life. My job wasn't to fix his career—it was to be there when he finally figured out what he needed to do. You want to support your partner in their own life, but you still want them to be agentic over it. That's the dance of the third thing. I never once asked myself if Jon was successful enough or happy enough or moving fast enough. I already knew the answer to the only question that mattered: we could build something beautiful together. I don't think either Jon or I could have achieved what we've achieved without each other. SheFi is monetized because he helped me push through my fear of rejection. He makes decks, thinks through strategy, shows up in a thousand ways that have nothing to do with whether he loved his job in 2021. And I've supported him through career pivots and dark seasons and all the messy middle nobody posts about. When you have 10,000 people on Hinge ready to take you on a date, you don't have a lead problem. You have a qualification problem. And it's easy to start screening for the wrong things—does he love his job, does he have it figured out, is he at his best right now? Here’s the only filter I trust: is this person willing to commit to building something as hard as I am? It has to be mutual. If you're both committed to the third thing, it'll work. If either of you is constantly scanning for the exit, it won't. Jon and I have had seasons where one of us was thriving and the other was drowning. We've had exactly zero seasons where we were both simultaneously at our best. And still—the third thing held. The third thing grew. The third thing became a life neither of us could have built alone. The third thing is where the magic happens. But you have to tend to it, even when the individuals inside it are imperfect. Especially then.
"Call Her Daddy" host Alex Cooper & actress Sophia Bush: if a woman is questioning whether she can do better than her current husband, "the answer is always yes." "This idea that it's too late or you're too old, or who are you to want more, that's patriarchy. That is crazy."

It’s me. It’s all me. All my fears, hopes, desires, loathing, it’s all here, in me. It never had a lick to do with the world or its people.

With my hypervigilance waning... I don't know where I am or where I'm going. I knew before, and I didn't like it, but my not liking it didn't seem to translate into changing it. Now that I don't care as much, I don't know and I'm not controlling it [directly]. Disorienting!
