It’s $4.2 million from an out-of-state special interest group known as the NEA, not parents and educators in AZ like you’re trying to imply! @12news would be going insane if the other side had this much out of state funding! Their bias is sickening.
The Protect Education Campaign — a coalition of Arizona parents and educators — announced that it has raised more than $4.4 million to fund a citizen initiative that would put reforms to Arizona’s ESA voucher program on the November 2026 ballot.

Dear Ed Week, This is 100% wrong, “leave the canon to English majors” is exactly how we lose civilization. Classical literature is not just harder content. It is liberation. It rips students out of the tiny prison of their own age, their own trends, their own slogans, their own shallow assumptions about what matters. It reminds them the world did not begin with them, and that their feelings are not the measure of truth. Shakespeare doesn’t teach “skills.” He reveals ambition, lust, betrayal, guilt, and the cost of sin. Homer teaches courage and honor. Augustine exposes the restless heart. Dante shows that loves can be ordered rightly or twisted into ruin. These books give students a map of the soul. The real enemy isn’t Crime and Punishment. The real enemy is a culture training kids to be bored by silence and incapable of deep thought. So no, don’t abandon the canon because it’s hard. It is their way out of the matrix.

“Academic accommodations for anxiety convey two harmful messages. First, they imply that the feared situation is truly dangerous. Public speaking, testing, or lunch with classmates are too risky for a student. Second, they suggest that the student can’t withstand the distress. Those messages increase anxiety.” What a fantastic article!! Eliminating things that cause anxiety don’t teach students how to cope with difficult situations and can heighten anxiety in the long term!! Avoidance is a TEMPORARY solution but can be harmful in the long run! This article is well worth the read: tc.columbia.edu/articles/202… @BostonGlobe @TeachersCollege

Gov. Hobbs has been extremely hostile to ESA since day 1. The gov. and state leg. races are the most important for ESA families. The leg. needs to stay R-majority or it will be overturned by democrats and over 90K students will lose their funding + ability to attend their schools

Wish more understood what these ACT scores signify: 55% of AZ high school *graduates* can’t attend college - not bc funding, racism or [insert] excuse - but because they literally are not cognitively capable of basic college level courses requiring a modicum of teachable skills.
📢 Class of 2024 Arizona ACT Scores: 100% of AZ students take the exam, 55% fail to pass even 1 core academic benchmark for college readiness in English, Math, Reading, Science ▶️ Continues year-on-year decline since ACT mandated in 2021-22 school year 1/

My friend: I could NEVER homeschool my kids! Also my friend: I'm loving relearning algebra with my son. We race to see who can get the right answer first. I ask him to explain it to me & he figures it out! No one thinks they'll love teaching their kids, until they try it♥️

🏛️School Reform is Civilization Building: “The danger of equitable grading is not just academic; it is moral. It teaches that responsibility is oppressive, that merit is exclusionary, and that outcomes matter more than effort. It replaces the American ethic of self-discipline with the Marxist fantasy of enforced equality. The result will not be justice but decline. We cannot build a civilization on the pretense that everyone succeeds by default. Real equity, the kind that respects human dignity, depends on truth. And truth requires standards.”

Bless her heart but @AZBethLewis has gone and published a bunch of claims that two whole minutes of googling comprehensively refute in the @ArizonaMirror. Beth claims that ESAs are leading to public school closures, but let's go myth busing and check the receipts/🧵

School bonds and overrides attract BIG money. In one quarter Deer Valley Votes 4 kids collects over $52,000 from corporations to push the ballot measure. Many of these same corporations will benefit financially if the ballot measures are passed.

Marty Lueken of @edchoice with a valueable analysis of Arizona's scholarship tax credit and ESA programs. Apocalyptic claims from **highly selective** fiscal conservative opponents (among other miscues) ignored the existence of the tax credit programs/🧵

Thank you, @JohnHookfox10 for having me on to talk about how school districts have built seats for 630,000 more students than they serve. That’s $12B of taxpayer-funded assets that are going unused.
Replying to @KatieRatliefAZ
@KatieRatliefAZ sat down with FOX 10's @JohnHookfox10 to unpack the challenges in education funding. With district schools standing as the only state-funded option, it may be time to rethink how we invest in our students as more families explore alternatives. Those two district-school incidents alone cost more than all the ESA fraud in Arizona *combined*. Sources below.
One school district spent $500,000 on a trip to Vegas. Another paid $450,000 for a sexual harassment claim. But that waste fades fast from headlines.
