in other news i went out & danced, causing a couple other people to dance, and only one person was unnerved by my existence so that's pretty good.

I have a one strike rule. I will not explain or repeat a hard boundary to a fully grown adult who doesn’t haven’t a profound learning disability.
People who consistently cross boundaries you set and then try to guilt you for setting them are NOT your friends. I give people 3 strikes and they are out. Once you’re out there is no going back. Especially when I’ve made it clear when you’re on your 3rd strike.

I applied for a warehouse job, a basic forklift/picker role, not management, not corporate. Did the interview, took the physical assessment, passed it, discussed shift and pay, got a "we'll be in touch." Never heard back. A 40-something, fully able-bodied person with actual forklift certification can't get hired for an entry-level warehouse shift. This is supposedly one of the tightest labor markets in decades, employers constantly saying they "can't find workers." So which is it? Because I'm standing here, qualified, available, certified, and apparently invisible to every single application I submit. Millions of people in the exact same position, getting ghosted after interviews that went fine. Something doesn't add up, and it's not the workers.

you might have to disappoint the version of yourself that wanted everybody to like you in order to become the version of yourself who actually likes being alive.

Yes, I spoke out about the voting machine I cast my vote on the first day of early voting in Tennessee. Yes, the button kept flipping up to the wrong candidate three times. Yes, I called on a very nice poll worker who stood there until it worked on the third try.

For a generation that grew up reading 1984, The Lottery, Brave New World, Fahrenheit 451, There Will Come Soft Rains and *gestures to Vonnegut in general* we are pretty bloody useless at recognising, and trying to stop, the end of everything.

We acknowledge that no one has the bandwidth for this, but if it helps: -It’s ‘sleight of hand’ -It’s ‘bated breath’ -It’s ‘lo and behold’ -It's 'buck naked' -It’s ‘brass tacks’ -It’s ‘free rein’ -It’s ‘toe the line'

“Excuse” vs. “Reason” just boils down to whether they really do want an explanation, or just an apology. If they’re angry, distraught, or otherwise emotional, they probably just want an apology; only if they’re inquisitive and emotionally controlled do they want an explanation.
Idk why people think everything is an excuse instead of just a reason. "Sorry, I don't know why I said that, I'm tired." "Being tired isn't an excuse!" "Sorry for being late, I was stuck in traffic." "Traffic isn't an excuse!" I fear it is, though?? Am I too autistic for this?

When I was younger, we made ox tail soup because ox tails were incredibly cheap. Now they’re nearly $9/lb! Same thing with chicken wings. It’s true that liver is very cheap to buy, but have you ever tried to get your kid to eat it? Good luck with that.

I don't think peoplele who grew up poor like I did need a Kennedy telling us how to shop for groceries. #letthemeatcake
RFK Jr. suggests Americans can more easily afford groceries if they start eating liver instead of beef: "Most of the cheap cuts of meat are very inexpensive. You can buy liver or the cheap cuts."

Yes but do you realize how very difficult and lonely it's going to be? Do it anyway.

my birthday brothers @66human and @JohnCleese should sign up and at least watch...Matt Cesca, too wherever he is. Dylan Thomas and Sylvia Plath could show up, which would make this a whole 'nother party.
