SpaceX is granting a gift of the greatest opportunity for other companies to step up and fill the voids.
I can't imagine a more ripe scenario. They paved the way, convinced capital it's worth betting on space, then moved up to bigger things.
We all have to put up or shut up.

gf was bragging about counting to 1023 on her fingers in binary, so i asked whats 0.1 + 0.2 and she exploded
The space community has always been plagued by concern trolling "studies" that make terrible assumptions or have no imagination for improving the status quo plan.
*Sometimes it's the reporting around the study misrepresenting the author's intent.
This was super fun. So satisfying to see these images come down during the mission ops.
(I didn't have to do anything during these ops. I got to enjoy the show the rest of the team put on.)
Years of my work coming together. With satellites it's rarely so visible and relatable.
Two Miras — less than 200 meters apart!
Our LEO Express 2 and LEO Express 3 spacecraft recently met for a family reunion in orbit, following a series of carefully coordinated maneuvers that brought the two vehicles within approximately two football fields of each other.
The operation put Mira's flight-proven agility to work, with our GNC, propulsion, and mission ops teams executing multiple complex maneuvers and close approaches along the way.

Against all odds SpaceX continues to find more hot humid remote places to make its employees work
Not enough people are talking about how Cape Verde had Argentina on the ropes in the final minutes. Felt like they were going to get an equalizer and ran out of time.
Best game I've ever seen.
I don't care about these teams and make no claims about what is going on.
But engineering is staring at plots of squiggles. You almost never see real data that looks like this. That plot is suspiciously clean. Looks more like a made for tv illustration than raw data.
When I entered the space industry SpaceX was the other company I was going through interviews with when Impulse swooped me up.
Out of curiosity I looked at their valuation from when I would have started. 15xed in that time frame, not bad.
I know exactly when I started following. When the first water landing video reconstruction popped up it got my attention. It jumped out to me as "oh this is different".
Took me a while to get in the game myself though.
I kind of want to buy a single share just to make memes in my work chats with all the former employees.

every week I become a little bit more of a "if LLMs are 10x better at writing software, where is all the 10x better / faster software" truther – at Scenic Oaks, TX
Space Camp in Huntsville is amazing. I went all the way up to Advanced Space Academy.
I got to see an ISS module integration at Marshall, but there was one part that was absolutely wild in hindsight.
We had a lecture on Relativity from an operation Paperclip scientist.
U.S. Space & Rocket Center @RocketCenterUSA in Huntsville, Alabama, home to @SpaceCampUSA. I am quite sure if I had not attended when I was 12, I would not be where I am today. And now this generation of campers will grow up in a world where outposts are operating on the Moon and someday Mars. Hard to imagine what could be more exciting or inspiring.

The worst unit is decibel: It isn't even a unit, isn't defined consistently across fields, hides an arbitrary reference scale and is named after Alexander Bell but spelled 'bel'
