Milton Friedman, Nobel Prize-winning economist, once went through the major U.S. government departments and said which ones should stay and which should go:
• Department of Agriculture: Abolish
• Department of Commerce: Abolish
• Department of Defense: Keep
• Department of Education: Abolish
• Department of Energy: Abolish (move the nuclear/military piece under Defense)
• Department of Health and Human Services: Cut in half (limited public health role only)
• Department of Housing and Urban Development: Abolish
• Department of the Interior: Sell off most government land, and abolish
• Department of Justice: Keep
• Department of Labor: Abolish
• Department of State: Keep
• Department of Transportation: Abolish
• Department of Treasury: Keep (to collect taxes)
• Department of Veterans Affairs: Pay veterans off, and abolish
Result: roughly 14 departments down to about 4–5.
Government’s real jobs, he said: defend the country, keep the peace, and protect people from being coerced by others. Everything else is outside its proper role.

Can't fault the price. The presentation, on the other hand, needs a serious rethink.

Transgenderism arose when it did because it requires a sufficient detachment from reality to be endemic in the population.
Men who have their ideas of women formed by porn and women who have their ideas of men formed by feminism are sufficiently detached from the reality of what sex is and what the sexes are, for the idea that sex was merely a contingent thing in humans, rather than one of our essential determinations.
Weirdly, and incoherently, the people who did this also generally acknowledge that sexuality is central to human existence and the human condition.
Think about that. They think SEXUALITY is essential, but that SEX is merely an imaginary social construct. They have become so detached from reality that they no longer grasp sex as act or sex as desire as HAVING ANYTHING TO DO with the two sexes.
This is simply the logical consequence of accepting that homosexuality is just the same as and not worse or different than the natural human thing that produces children. And the logical consequence of feminism, that decided men and women were identical and interchangeable in all respects.
Yes, the terfs have been indispensable in beating back the scourge of Transgenderism, but feminism birthed it, and the terfs are not your friends in trying to undo the damage of feminism to men and women.

Stereotype accuracy is perhaps the single most enduring and replicable effect in the entire field of social science. A commonly-held stereotype is ~2x more likely to replicate than a peer-reviewed study. If your study suggests a stereotype is wrong, that's an extraordinary claim!

Philomena: Some people have been writing PHP for over 20 years. Is that because it's particularly difficult to finish?
Expert: No, software is constantly evolving.
Philomena: So they've been writing the same website for 20 years?
Expert: No, different projects.
Philomena: Have they tried finishing one before starting another?
Expert: That's not how software development works.
Philomena: My mate Paul spent 20 years building a shed. Turned out he was just an alcoholic.
Expert: Right.
Philomena: Is PHP like that?

Last year I thought Threads was an existential risk to X.
When Meta puts its full weight behind something -- by injecting the app into Instagram, it’s DEFCON 5:
You have to squeeze out every last drop of growth from all available surfaces to save the app.
However, I started to realize that the opposite was happening:
It was strengthening X.
If you look at any announcement by Zuck, you will see the most rude & toxic comments on the internet.
But when he makes those same announcements on X, people are thrilled about how he’s pushing humanity forward. X is a place where people are excited about the future, so it’s no surprise he and his top lieutenants are using it more than their own app.
Threads — and Bluesky — have effectively quarantined some of the worst people on the internet.
And so I had an epiphany: those apps are X’s anti-abuse systems.
