On this Texas Independence Day, we commemorate the spirit and resilience of Texans.
The “Republic of Texas Legation Memorial Act” which I successfully authored in 2020, honors the historic delegation of Texans who came to Washington as diplomats to negotiate our joining the Union. It will serve as a celebration of the Texan spirit here in our nation’s capital.

My latest Q&A chats with Texas Agriculture Commissioner candidate @ClaytonTuckerTX. We talk about data centers, the THC ban, and why 2026 will be the Democrats’ year in Texas.

A 4R friend sent me his ballot (don’t yell at me about “no phones in the polling location”—he took the photo).
Dude has volunteered for and donated to Abbott, Patrick, and a dozen other Republicans and helped me put out 4x8s in 3 different elections (he had a truck).

Yeah, the Texas Senate race is still a pure tossup, but pretty much everything Democrats could ask for to give them a fighting chance, is happening.
This from @longhornderek’s latest report (Texas voting thru Friday) is again one of those things where, if Dems flip Texas, people will think it was obvious all along mcusercontent.com/d3064a2fad…
People across America & TX are getting their freedoms & rights stripped & trampled. PermRes green-cards, refugees, asylum seekers, migrant workers who play by the rules & contribute. Even American Citizens.
I was already mad when it was strangers, but now it happened to a friend

American conservatives are constantly bemoaning the decline of aesthetic standards and calling for a return to classical Roman architecture, but are now forced to defend the Cheesecake Factory. A constant tension between the Brooks Brothers patrician and the Kid Rock populist.

A Texas Democrat from the Austin area wins a hotly contested statewide primary, then runs in an open seat race against a deeply flawed Republican millionaire opponent who runs one of the worst campaigns in modern history.
The race becomes extraordinarily negative, and sets national records for spending.
The Democrat wins by 2.5 points. Texas flips blue.
The year is 1990.

So when Black and Hispanic precincts start outpacing white ones in early voting, that’s the system breaking. When a Republican county gets a front-row seat to what 287(g) does to its own neighbors, and its own business owners start yelling at the mayor, that’s a crack. When Texans leave their “I voted” stickers where ICE shot a man, that’s a message.

Mississippi might not flip this year. But the people who built the system were counting on us to stay home forever, and that’s the one thing that isn’t happening.
Six days left. Go vote.

When people say that if you taxed Elon's wealth, he'd have to sell stocks to pay his taxes on unrealized gains, and I say, "So what?"
I could scour the heavens above and the depth of the ocean. I could search every alternate universe and timeline in the Marvel Universe. And there is nowhere that I could find a hoot to give about Elon's problem if he had to sell some stock to pay his taxes.
None.
If people have their property seized to pay for taxes on the rising price of their property, then I am utterly and completely empty of hoots for Elon having to sell some stocks.
Especially since every human being without pudding for brains knows that he wouldn't have to sell stocks. He'd just take out a loan, like he did when he needed cash to buy Twitter.
Or like he does when he tries to buy US Senators in Texas.
If he can try to own the government, he can help pay for it. I could not possibly be more hootless about what problems that may present to him.

People are working hard and still can’t pay the bills. Small businesses are struggling to make payroll. Truckers are getting crushed at the pump.
Folks are tired. They have every right to be. They deserve leaders who take the cost of living seriously.

🚨 Today and tomorrow are your last chances to vote early! I’m a farmer from Union Parish, and I’m running to send Mike Johnson home and put working people first. If you’re ready for that change, I’d be honored to earn your vote. #LA4

Gina is going to overperform in key demographics, and that's what outside observers are missing.
I expect Talarico to be the top Dem vote-getter as top of the ticket with more money, but the gap between them will be smaller than people expect.
It's an uphill climb for Dems in Texas, but @GinaHinojosaTX is going to have a great story to tell after this. #txlege #txsen

Fox News is putting Nicki Minaj up telling people to vote red.
Let’s break that down.
Can Nicki Minaj vote? No.
She’s not a U.S. citizen.
Can Nicki Minaj’s husband vote? No, he’s a registered sex offender.
Can Nicki Minaj’s brother vote? No, he’s serving 25 years to life for child sexual assault.
She seems like the perfect spokesperson for MAGA republicans.
