He is a wildman, the way Tim Gerard Reynolds delivers the cadence of his voice in the audiobook makes him even more memorable
I may be in the minority here but I really enjoy Iron Gold. It shows a massive leap in Browns writing skill.
The Fall of Mercury at the very beginning is awesomely descriptive despite being so short.
Plus we get Apple, which has to be some kind of award in itself
I think part of that is the pacing of the original trilogy, those three books are considerably shorter than the ones in the second half of the series.
