U.S. is taking in a lot of Canadians, with immigration numbers up 142%.

Brad put the work in and grinded it out. That’s exactly what I want in a Mayor. And yes - I have a condo in Toronto and will be casting my vote for Brad Bradford.

A lot of buzz about this @markrmcqueen piece in today’s @TorontoStar. It is our most-read column this morning.

This is a consequential decision well worth noting. By both employers and unions.
In August, contract talks between the union and the Ontario Hospital Association on behalf of 14,000 hospital employees went to arbitration, where the use of artificial intelligence in hospitals was a key point of negotiation.
OPSEU sought advance notice of hospitals’ “anticipated” use of AI, but the arbitration board rejected the union’s proposal. It claimed current contract language was enough to capture any technological changes related to AI.
It would be too “onerous,” the board also said, for hospitals to provide notice to the union about anticipated AI use.
“The use of A.I. in high-tech equipment is ubiquitous and is often guarded as intellectual property by third parties. It would be nearly impossible for hospitals to comply with notice requirements for the ‘anticipated use’ of A.I.,” the arbitration board said.

As a cancer physician, I see the problem.
Canada wants access to the world’s most innovative cancer treatments, but makes companies jump through years of regulatory and reimbursement hoops to sell them here.
At some point, companies decide Canada simply isn’t worth the trouble.
Congratulations. We’ve found a way to control drug spending by making sure the drugs never arrive.
And cancer patients are left holding the bill.

I am very curious to see how this lands
STATEMENT FROM BC NDP LEADER DAVID EBY:
"Securing a deal with the Prime Minister, BC and Ottawa will work together to reach a newly negotiated childcare funding agreement with a December 1st deadline. My family has benefited from a wonderful local childcare centre and I will keep fighting so that every family benefits from quality childcare across our province.
A couple of years ago, the childcare centre that one of our children was attending was designated as a $10/day site. When that occurred, we chose as a family to make a donation to that excellent facility. We felt that we did not need that discount and we wanted to make sure that the childcare centre could provide other supports for families in the community.
We will be making a similar donation to the childcare centre for our youngest child who attends the same facility."
This can’t be correct -
Just now, David Eby confirms that he has his kids in $10/day taxpayer-subsidized daycare.
Approx. only 10% of BC daycare spots offer $10/day daycare. Most families who want in can't get a spot.
As Premier, Eby earns $227k/year. Eby's wife is a doctor. Their household income is likely well over half a million dollars per year.
We don't resent British Columbians who are successful (we want more people to succeed).
But where there are wait lists, surely a wealthy family like Eby's shouldn't be taking advantage of $10/day daycare. Think about a working single mother? David Eby deserves the spot more than her?

Dear friends, during some recent medical examinations, the doctors found a small, localized nodule in my lung. It was detected at a very early stage and is well-localized. The doctors believe that it is best to intervene, so, following their advice, I have decided to undergo surgery to remove it. The operation is already scheduled to take place in the coming days. I thank you for your spiritual closeness and entrust myself to your prayers.

I heard some folks are wondering how I ended up being named Brad Bradford.
Let’s talk about it
And……. we have reached the point in a floundering campaign where they are making fun of Brad’s name. But I do appreciate Laryssa’s post. It’s a lovely origin story.
Here's another piece of trash from @progresstoronto.
Let's talk about why @BradMBradford name is, interestingly: Brad Bradford (and Progress folks know this story):
His mother named him Brad to honour her maiden name: Bradford. When he was a young boy, his mother gathered the courage to leave her abusive husband (Brad's father). Eventually she took her maiden name; and Brad, all of 7 years old at the time, asked her to change his name as well. So he could honour her.
So, would you vote for the guy raised by a woman who left her abusive partner? I would.
👏👏👏
After collaborative discussions with Alberta’s government, the federal government announced two very qualified judicial appointments for Alberta. To our knowledge, this is the first time in decades we’ve witnessed truly non-partisan cooperation on judicial appointments between a Liberal federal government and a Conservative provincial government.
It is a clear indication that the federal government is beginning to treat Alberta with more respect and as an equal partner. Well done by all.

We’re aware of AI-generated, so-called “endorsements” circulating online.
Official campaign endorsements that stand for the priorities our campaign is built on can be found on our social channels and website.
All other “endorsements” have no affiliation to our campaign.
My observation on the last 2 days of comms from the Chow Campaign -
Day 1 - Brad is scaring you about crime! Everything is fine!
Day 2 - There are scary guns on the streets of Toronto! Brad doesn’t care!
Pick a lane folks.

This is the right decision. Canada is already struggling with proper guardrails for and assessment of Track 2 cases. It would be incredibly irresponsible to open up a brand new track

When it comes to mental illness, serious concerns remain about whether MAID requests can be assessed safely and consistently. For that reason, Canada does not intend to move ahead with the scheduled expansion of MAID for mental illness.
What a load of indignation.
