Campaigns have been staging fake hunting photo ops for decades. Blaze orange. Shotgun. Boots. Smile. Tafoya's campaign is remarkably lazy. They couldn’t even be bothered to fake the fake hunt. More on the next episode of @TheBrodcastPod. #mnsen
Michele Tafoya claims she went pheasant hunting in tan suede sneakers and no blaze orange. The pheasants were safer than the shoes. At least she bagged a photo op. #mnsen

Positive thoughts after the Vikings win because this fanbase needs it: - Defense is clearly the best in the NFL. - A Vikings QB has yet to be outplayed in a game this season (defense is that good) - The offense could definitely use an upgrade at RB and Jonathan Taylor, Saquon Barkely & Tony Pollard are available. - Blake Cashman, Dallas Turner & Jalen Redmond should be 1st team all-pro this season. - They have a winning formula/identity that clearly works (dominant defense, special teams & ball control offense) - I truly believe the offense will be a top 15 unit when it matters the most. I am ready to get hurt again.

I called it a sleepy Senate race but then @mbrodkorb and I still found 20 minutes worth of stuff to disagree about. Michele Tafoya’s chances in the closing days and showing my wonk side as I relate it to the closing days of 2006 and Pawlenty vs Hatch youtu.be/GwjwSGj2H6k

Observation #18 in MIN win vs INDY– An offense that has TJ Hockenson, Justin Jefferson, and Jordan Addison can’t lack explosiveness. I would recommends KOC get help from Brian Flores to help him dissect what defenses are doing, and where his WRs or QB are coming up short.

Have to think that was KOC sacrificing a missed field goal now before it can do the Vikings real damage in January.

Can we all agree this is Brian Flores’ team? Matt Daniels, his chief of staff. Kevin O’Connell their public relations director. #Vikings

The streak is over. Will Reichard's 59-yard field goal attempt is blocked. Colts take over at midfield down just 3 points.

This is actually exactly how McCarthy was playing over his final four games of last season. And in the 2nd half against Chicago + Detroit last year. The gap between how people view McCarthy -- and his actual talent level on the football field = a hilariously wide gap.
The new and improved J.J. McCarthy is interesting.

Let’s try something for a second. Pretend you’ve never seen a single poll this cycle. You don’t know what the generic ballot average is, you don’t know any polling averages in any Senate or governor’s race, and you don’t know what Trump’s job approval is. Forget about historical polling bias. And pretend you’ve never seen any hackish/wishcasting early voting analysis. And consider the following: — Republican and Democratic groups are spending most of their money in more than a half-dozen Senate races where Trump won by double-digit margins in 2024, including states like Kansas that haven’t elected a Democratic Senator since FDR was president. — Republican and Democratic groups are spending money defending dozens of House seats that Trump won by double-digit margins in 2024, including some where he won by over 20 points. — In the home stretch, Trump is campaigning in deep red states like Mississippi and South Carolina. — Republican statewide candidates (e.g., Rick Jackson in Georgia, Dan Patrick in Texas) are publicly begging rural voters to vote early because they are openly panicking about their relative turnout so far. — Trump instructed the Justice Department to sue to pre-emptively block the certification of the Senate results in Alaska if the Republican candidate loses. — Nearly all of Republicans’ closing message attacks are some form of trying to tie their very-clearly-not-socialist Democratic opponents to socialism, and/or trying to focus their race on trans issues instead of kitchen table issues (e.g., inflation/affordability). — Republican candidates running in deep red states and districts that Democrats could not imagine winning in their wildest dreams (e.g., Arkansas Senate, Wyoming House), are going on the offensive against their Democratic opponents down the stretch, because they aren’t quite sure where the bottom is going to be. — Republican candidates in double-digit Trump districts are quietly scrubbing all mentions of Trump from their campaign websites. — Latino candidates in deeply Latino areas that swung heavily toward Trump in 2024 (e.g., in South Texas and South Florida) are campaigning against Trump on ICE overreach — something that was never essentially unthinkable ~18 months ago. — Self-described moderate Democratic candidates running in Trump-double-digit states like Josh Turek in Iowa are running on things like price controls. — Qualitative race raters like Cook & Sabato’s Crystal Ball — who get access to tons of internal polling from both parties that never see the light of day — have been shifting their ratings of dozens of seats towards Democrats on a weekly basis in October. Add that all together — what does that signal to you about how both parties, and neutral outside observers, currently view the national environment?

🗳️ Take: Election Day is 10 days away. No NRSC ad reservations, no big GOP spending for Michele Tafoya. In reality, there isn't enough runway left for late money to matter. The cavalry isn't coming for Tafoya. My take is Flanagan wins by 5-6 points. #mnsen
