holy f*ck
Grok Bot (@bot) engineer Lauren Tan showed her pstack setup for coding agents:
request → /poteto-mode → playbook → targeted skills → verification
30 selected skills handle execution. 24 principle references guide design decisions, code quality and failure handling:
→ 5 startup skills
/poteto-mode - routes the task
/poteto-help - explains commands and workflows
/setup-pstack - configures models and reasoning budget
/in-your-own-words - restates the goal before execution
/sharpen - strengthens the prompt’s methods and verification
→ 6 context skills
/how - traces implementation
/why - investigates design rationale
/teach - connects mechanics with reasoning
/recall - restores relevant prior context
/ketchup - summarizes chat progress and pending decisions
/bro - restates the last message without jargon
→ 4 design skills
/architect - defines interfaces, types and boundaries
/arena - compares solutions to the same problem
/swarm - distributes separate work slices
/figure-it-out - designs a playbook when existing ones don’t fit
→ 7 verification skills
/interrogate - challenges the diff across models
/tdd - writes a failing test before the fix
/benchmark-checklist - checks measurement validity
/create-verification-skill - builds runtime checks and a feature map
/maintain-verification-skill - updates verification as the app changes
/blast-radius - examines impact beyond the diff
/show-me-your-work - records a reviewable decision trail
→ 3 writing skills
/unslop - removes generic AI prose
/technical-writing - structures technical documentation
/no-comments - reviews comments and applies accepted fixes
→ 5 improvement skills
/automate-me - derives a personal mode from work history
/reflect - captures completed-work lessons as skill updates
/correct - turns recurring mistakes into constraints
/make-bot-ui - builds interfaces that trigger Grok Bot through webhooks
/typescript-best-practices - applies TypeScript type-system practices
+ 24 engineering principles
cover domain modeling, module boundaries, idempotent operations, behavior-based tests, context management and encoding lessons into project structure
Give the router a checkable finish condition:
/poteto-mode
> reproduce the failure in the running app
> define the observable success condition
> make the smallest justified fix and repeat the check
> return the diff, verification commands, results and blockers
the playbook selects the skills. the completion check determines whether the task is done
Save this before building another agent workflow from scratch ↓

🚨 BREAKING: SpaceX locked Anthropic into paying them $3.1 billion per MONTH for compute starting December
$37B a year
= $120.5 BILLION through 2029
Every month, ~80% of Anthropic's current revenue would be SpaceXSI compute bill
BIGGER than its Google and Amazon long-term deals
Anthropic warns short-term compute "carries a higher cost per unit" and will "compress our operating margin"

people building cool things in bend. I should react liek "cool, adoption" but I'm more like "fuck, people are using it"
I do think Bend is good, but the plans I have will make it GREAT. it will be astronomically better soon, and that's what I want people to experience
BendTorch is out: neural networks trained in Bend 2, with the backward pass in the types. MNIST, a small Llama and SmolLM2-135M fine-tuning, each checked against a PyTorch twin from the same weights.
Every gradient has the type of the value it is the gradient of, so a transposed gradient or two layers that do not fit do not compile. The backward formulas of the linear layers, the chain rule through Seq and Fork, and the causal mask are laws that Bend's kernel checks.
It computes what PyTorch computes: MNIST's loss and its 9,108 test hits are PyTorch's, with the same bits on 1 and 16 threads. After 400 fine-tuning steps on Shakespeare, SmolLM2-135M writes "And her love is in the bosom more than thou art in me", and greedy decoding gives PyTorch's tokens. Of 98 bugs I planted on purpose, 96 are caught by a law or a test; the other 2 still compute the right result.
It is slower: about 6x PyTorch eager on MNIST and 4.3x on a SmolLM2-135M training step on 16 threads. It is faster only on a tiny model, where PyTorch's per-operation overhead dominates. On the GPU it is 1.7x slower than 16 CPU threads. BENCHMARK.md compares eleven systems, losses included.
All of the math is Bend: no BLAS, no C or CUDA kernels. It builds on bend-ml and on what llama.bend taught me about the Llama layers, and it is on BendHub as four packages ([email protected], plus -fast, -gpu and -load).
