a lot of people want to disenfranchise a whole group because they're not informed enough but I think Boomers should still be allowed to vote despite all the studies showing they're far more likely to share fake news and election misinformation

If they pay so little attention...are they informed enough to vote?

The little girl nextdoor came over to see me… ‘I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate having you as a neighbour’ (I rarely see them). Then I realised halloween is next weekend. What a smart cookie 🍪

Either he doesn’t know or is lying. Very frustrating to hear this. As this is what Auckland’s feedback focused on as well.
this young interviewer completely embarrasses christopher luxon, who tries to say the kid doesn't know the details of the move-on bill, only for the kid to come back and grill him on the details, while luxon just stammers and deflects. clip via voteotago on instagram

Apart from anything else, the fact that unemployment rates and company liquidations are the highest in years should be enough reason to ditch this government. I am so over this nonsense that National is or ever has been good for the economy.
From 1986 to 2023 every NZ government, on average, yearly added 34,000 jobs, but the coalition has LOST 35,000 jobs. In Sept 2023 unemployment was 3.9%, it's now 5.6%. 20,000 construction jobs gone, 3000 hospitality business folded in a year. The coalition has ruined the economy

How can those polled not care about the crises in hospitals, the clinicians & nurses begging for help? My niece's friend has qualified as a nurse, he's applied for 37 jobs got 16 replies only & no job offer. It cost him $80,000 to qualify he says. He thinks Aus is his only option

Things about health is that the people who believe most strongly that it's all going great are the PM and the Health Minister, followed by the Health NZ leaders who cannot contradict them This idea degrades strongly the further you go down the org chart. Bullshit flows downhill

Yes, the electoral commission is going a fine job of reaching out to enrol people ahead of the govt's false deadline And on Morning Report the PM just said they had made it as easy as possible to enrol. A simple lie. His govt made it impossible to enrol in the last two weeks

The government’s intentional voter suppression is working. And likely in their favour. Remember it was against advice as well.

It is worth noting that there *was* a huge surge in the last week in 2023 (but of course that was during early voting, with people signing up at early voting places).
