When you realize work is the mechanism to provide funding for life, you recognize your true purpose.
I sat on the sidelines too long.
I was so focused on work. I told myself I was providing. I thought I was balancing my priorities. In reality, work always came first.
My family wandered. Not because I was a bad guy. Because I was absent even when I was home.
One day it hit me. They didn't want more stuff. They wanted me.
I had to face something ugly. I had built a business and let the most important people drift to the edges of my life.
So I changed the order.
Faith first. Family next. Business follows.
That doesn't mean I stopped working hard. It means the work serves the life, not the other way around.
Fathers, your family needs you to lead. Not passively. With purpose.
Be a role model in faith, love, and integrity.
Your family needs you. This is a daily pursuit.
